The first school week went by quickly. It was Saturday and me and my friends were on the way to Hogsmeade.
Sebastian was talking about how he kicked Leander's ass in the D.A.D.A. class again. And I thanked him silently in my head. Perhaps when he would see me with Sebastian he wouldn't try to ask me out on a date. I vividly remember last year how Leander flaunted that he would beat Sebastian if Professor Hecat would not interrupt them. He completely ignored the fact that he was almost crushed by a giant dragon skull.
Sebastian finished his story laughing like crazy and we all joined him. Amit started to describe how he probably discovered a new constellation with his brand new telescope.
I was only half listening whilst I started to narrate to Ominis how the leaves were already changing their colours since autumn wasn't far away. It was a habit that I embraced during the last year. I wanted him to feel included in our friend group all the time. I could sense he felt a little bit isolated sometimes.
He was listening to me, his head slightly tilted so he could concentrate on my voice better.
When we arrived at Hogsmeade we headed right to the Three Broomstick. We choose one of the bigger tables and get comfortable. Sebastian And Garreth went to order butterbeer for all of us.
I noticed that Leander was also here with some of his friends from Gryffindor. He was eying me like I was a piece of meat. He stood up with a creepy smile on his face but quickly sat back down when he saw Sebastian heading back with our drinks.
"Thanks Seb, could you please sit next to me?" I asked promptly.
"You can't be without me, do you?" He laughed but took a seat at the bench next to me.
"Don't be funny! I just really don't want to talk to Leander. And I think that he is a little bit scared of you."
"How you preach, mademoiselle. I shall be your personal Guardian then," he bowed his head slightly. I smacked his head with my palm.
"I am serious, Sebastian," I whispered to him angrily.
"Ouch, Ok Ok. No need to be that harsh," he rubbed his head.
"But honestly, Lynette, what is between you and Leander? He asked me yesterday if you are seeing someone at the moment." Natsai asked in a low voice.
"Nothing is between us and nothing ever will be," I huffed, annoyed.
"Does it have to do something with the courting I've mentioned in the train?" Poppy wondered curiously.
"Yeah. I think so. I'm just hoping that my uncle has enough sense that he would not pick Leander for me. I still think that I am too young for this anyway."
"I don't know, Lynn. You will be seventeen this year. A lot of people at this age are getting engaged," Poppy stated. "Especially if it is supposed to be an arranged wedding."
"Thanks, Pops. That's exactly what I wanted to hear," I sighted and took a sip from my butterbeer. "By the way, Natty, what did you tell him?"
"The truth, that I don't know. Should I have said something else? We have never really talked about stuff like this," she bitted her lips nervously.
"No, that's Ok," I smiled at her.
"I don't believe you. You have never talked about boys before? I thought that's all girls talked about when they are alone," Garreth choked on his butterbeer.
"Well. Last year I would say we had some more important stuff to discuss. And this year...I guess we just simply didn't have the opportunity to talk alone. There is always one of you blockheads around," I stuck my tongue at him. Poppy giggled at my answer so I winked at her playfully.
