Slowly approaching the door to your apartment, your mind was set on one thing and one thing only. Your boyfriend of 3 years. Choi Soobin. He didn't know you'd be coming home today so you were hoping to surprise him. You knock on the door loudly, unable to control your excitement, but there was no answer. Your face drops after realising he wasn't home yet and you'd have to wait even longer to see him. As you slide your key into the lock and twist it, you hear the elevator down the hall ding and the doors slide open.
You turn your head hoping it was Soobin and wait for the person to walk out. A tall man starts walking down the hall holding 2 shopping bags and looking down at his phone. He lifts his head for a moment and you lock eyes. He drops everything and immediately runs to you. You jump into his arms and sob uncontrollably. "I missed you so much, baby." He says, cupping your face and kissing you all over. You were so excited you didn't even have the words to tell him how happy you were to see him. You just stared into his eyes and let him wipe your tears with his thumb. You hug him tightly, wrapping your legs around his waist and burring your face into the crook of his neck. It felt so good to be in his arms again, to smell his refreshing cologne and feel his warm touch on your body. It was truly the happiest you had felt since you first started dating.
He kisses you passionately and slowly pulls away to caress your cheek softly. Seeing his perfect lips still slightly parted from your kiss only made you want to do it again. So you did. You pull him in and kiss him once more while gently playing with the hairs on the back of his neck. A million kisses wouldn't be enough to make up for the time you lost being apart. You just wanted to stay like this forever. Soobin pulls away to catch his breath and lets out a tiny laugh. "Let's head inside, darling." Hearing him call you darling melted your heart. You nodded and let him put you down. You still kept a tight grip on his hand, refusing to let go of your lover.
You hold hands and take one more look into each others eyes before picking up your belongings and heading into the apartment to continue your reunion.
Soobin puts away his groceries swiftly and runs back to you. He puts his arms around your waist and pulls you in closely. He plants lots of kisses on your forehead and continues to stare down at your face, observing every single detail. "You have no idea how long i've been waiting for this moment, my love." he whispers. "What's with all the pet names?" You ask with a giggle, finding it hard to control the cheesy smile on your face.
"I just love you too much." He replies
"Oh I love you so much, Soob. Im never leaving you again." you reply, pulling your arms over his shoulders and resting your head on his chest just below his chin. He squeezes you even tighter and breathes in to smell your shampoo. It was a scent he had been longing to smell for a very long time. It might seem like an odd thing to miss about someone, but Soobin missed every single little detail about you that he couldn't touch, see or smell through a screen. Well, even the things he could experience with you through endless facetime calls and text messages simply weren't enough. He had been desperate to see you in person again for months.
Still holding you by the waist, he pulls you down to the couch so you're laying on top of him. He gently rests your head on his chest and holds you in his arms. He strokes your hair and lets out a big sigh. You snuggle together for what felt like eternity. Your limbs intertwined perfectly like puzzle pieces. Everything was quiet and peaceful. This moment was everything you had dreamed of it being. It felt euphoric to be laying down with Soobin again. Feeling his body warmth on yours as you held his hand. You were finally back with the love of your life after all these months.
You were finally home.
