What Happens Now

Chapter 3

Jace  makes his rounds of greeting everyone and scanning the room to find his good friend Lucas. Lucas Davis is the all star player of the basketball team and he is also an all star scholar. He's got brains and brawn. Making him the perfect match for his good friend Shay.
"I'm going to catch up with Sarah." Maggie kisses Jace  and heads to the living room. Jace  finally sees Lucas standing in a corner with a drink in hand.
"Hey man." Jace  says as he fills up a cup
"Hey Jace . Where's your girl?" Lucas sips his drink and walks over to him.
"With Sarah. Hey, what do you think about Shay Porter?" Jace  asks
"She's really pretty. Also pretty funny too."
"Good answer."

"All better." I say to myself as I add my finishing touches. His newly tousled hair and the removal of his green flannel made him look semi desirable.
"If you say so." He looks down at me and gives me a nervous look. I shake my head and position him in front of the mirror.
"See! You look cute." He looks at himself and he cracks a smile.
"Alright. Umm, are you sure Iris is going to be here?"
"She texted me so... I assume so." I look down to check my phone to see a message from Iris.
Are you at Donohue's yet?
"She's here. Let's go tiger." I winked at him and open the door. "After you." I chuckled and let him walk out first. We made our way to the kitchen and I saw all my friends... well... except for Harrison. It shouldn't be long until he arrives anyways. It looked like everyone was having fun, well except for Iris. Iris came over to me with an uncomfortable smile.
"Hey." She softly said and stepped closer to me when a screaming dude began running around the kitchen.
"Hi. Iris. Meet Sean."
"Sean. Is this Sean you talk about all the time? Hi." Iris smiled
"You talk about me?" Sean turned to me and I nervously replied "Not all the time. Anyways, why don't you guys get to know each other." I push the cute pair off like a proud parent. I make my way towards the rest of the group of girls.
"Shay!" Rina jumped up and down and gave me a hug and Jenny was getting emo drunk again.
"Hey guys! You came! Hey, where's Jackie?" I ask. I sure hope she's not with Selena.
"Actually she saw Daze and took a shot of Vodka to talk to her." Krishna giggled
"Shay, you know Lucas." Jace  winked and I couldn't help but blush.
"Yes. I do. Hey." I stepped closer to Lucas.
"Hey I like your hair. It really fits you." Lucas complimented as Jace  swiftly gave me the good to go nod and backed away.
"Do you want to talk somewhere else? It's kind of loud over here."
"It's loud everywhere, but we can try and find a place." He took my hand and led me to the patio.

Willow and Harrison walked into the house hand in hand while Ender anxiously walked ahead with an objective. Harrison took notice of Ender's weird behavior and told Willow to go ahead.
"Ender, wait! What's going on bro?" Harrison grabbed him by the collar to stop the tall pale boy from his mission.
"I need to talk to someone very important. I have to talk to them so I can be sure what we are." Ender continued to scan the house to find that special person.
"I see what this is about."
"I don't think you do."
"Of course I do. I'm your best friend."
"I just. In the past few months I just started having these feelings and I want to be sure they are real."
"What these past few months? Wait a second! You liked Shay when I liked her too?"
"No. I don't like Shay! See! You don't get it! I got to go."
Harrison didn't have a clue about what was happening. Willow walked over and saw the dispute between the two. It looked pretty bad because they never get like this.
"What happened?" She rubbed the small of his back.
"I thought he liked Shay and it wasn't her." He replied as he began looking for Shay now..
"Don't worry about it too much. Let's go get a drink okay." He leaned in and kissed her on the cheek.

Lucas is a pretty cool guy. At first, I thought he was kind of boring or he wasn't really my type, but maybe it's because I needed to get to know him. He was so smart and everything he said had a purpose to it. Also, his jawline. And his muscles. And his smile. He is a dreamboat and totally surprises me why he is spending his time at the party talking to me and not some popular girl instead. As he was talking I could see Ender coming closer.
"Hey." I awkwardly say hoping he would get the hint to leave.
"We need to talk. Alone." Ender looked at the two of us.
"Shay, can you give us a minute?" Lucas's eyes looked like he was a deer caught in the headlights.
