Chapter 7

"Shay! Harrison is in a fragile state right now with their break up. Give him space please!" Iris advised as her screen grew bigger on the facetime.
"Yes! What she said! Do not let yourself be a rebound for him!" Jackie interjected, and her screen got bigger
"Yeah... anyways... How was Daze?!" I awkwardly said in hopes of changing the subject.
"We did it! Anyways, back to you!" Jackie laughs
"Oh my god! How was it? No longer a virgin now!" I tease
"It was good. Hopefully she'll want to hang again..."Jackie looked to the feet below her under her desk.
"She will! Also, your friend Sean. He's okay. I'm not going to rule him out, but he's nice and chill." Iris chimes
"That's great! Everything is great!" As I said that I heard a knock on my bedroom door.
"Hey guys, I have to go. I'll call you guys later." I ended the call and got up to the door.

The doorbell rang, and Willow rushed to the window. As soon as she saw who it was, she quickly opened the door.
"Jace ! Come in!" Willow grabbed his hand and led him up the stairs to her bedroom.
"Look, Willow... I heard you and Harrison broke up last night. I need to know if it's mine." Jace  asks as he lets go of her hand. She shut the door behind her and sat down in her bean bag chair.
"It might be yours. I honestly don't know. If it's yours, I want to keep it." Willow says as she pulls a blanket over her.
"What? No. We can't. Please don't."
"Why not?"
"Because everyone will know I cheated! And, I don't have romantic feelings for you. I just fucked you because I wanted to help my friend."
"Who's your friend?!" Willow stood up with her arms crossed.
"It doesn't matter... But I think you already know."
"Yeah I do. It's Lilly isn't it?"
"No. Wait! Why would you say that?" Jace  says in shock
"Because Lily and Harrison kissed a few days ago."
"He doesn't like Shay?"
"No. Even though she has a stupid and obvious crush on him. It's kinda sad ya know. He only keeps her around because she's the only stability he has in his life."
"I have to tell Shay!" Jace  reaches for the keys in his pocket and begins to grab the door handle.
"Do you like her?"
"No. I wanted to tell you that... I am figuring things out. Like sexually..."
"Oh. Is that why you were so pressed on Lucas and Shay getting together? Because you like Lucas?" Willow realises and begins to touch her stomach.
"Yeah. Anyways, I guess do what you want. I just figured you should know the truth about me since you might be carrying my kid."

I open the door and I see a shockingly familiar face.
"What are you doing here?" I laugh as Austin waltzes into my room with a picnic basket.
"I introduced myself to your mom, she's chill. Also, I was thinking we actually watch the Marvel movie we started last night. And then we ya know..."He raised his eyebrows up and began unpacking the picnic basket.
"We have sex." I finish the sentence and I can't help but crack a smile.
"Yeah. Sounds good right?" He pulls me towards my bed and grabs the remote on my nightstand.
"I just met you!" I try pushing him away and he pulls me closer.
"Yeah... and so..." Austin looks me up and down and sits on my bed. He reaches out his hand and I give in.
"Are you happy to see me?" I jokingly say as I grab the remote from his lap.

As soon as Harrison got home, he stepped into the shower to think. He thought he loved Willow. But then Lilly, Willow's best friend confessed to him how she felt and kissed him. And then seeing Shay today... It confused him. Willow's pregnant. Lilly likes him, and there's Shay. Harrison quickly rinses off and calls Ender.

"Dude... I am so confused..." Harrison says as he sits down at his desk.
"About what? Me and Lucas?"
"No. That's great. Actually congrats!"
"Thanks.So what are you confused about?"
"Willow and I broke up. She has feelings for someone else, and she said I had feelings for someone else... but I think she thinks I have feelings for Lily because me and her kissed."
"Well, yeah she's wrong about that."
"Wrong about me kissing Lilly, no that's true."
"So, what are you so confused about then? Do you like Lilly? Do you want to keep the kid or not?"
"I like Lilly. I don't know... Something was made clear to me."
"What?"
"When I went to see Shay today, something kind of clicked. When she was giving me advice... I realise how much I need her."
"I know. You've said this before.Ya know, before you screwed your chances with her."
"I don't think she feels the same way. I blew it."
"I don't think you did. I think there is still time. You have the whole summer to reveal to her how you feel."
"I was thinking tonight? She said she would stop by to hangout, maybe I'll make a move then?"
"Well, you just broke up with Willow... that doesn't sound good to her. Shay's more than a rebound."
"She's not a rebound. So, I should wait?"
"Most definitely. From being friends with Shay, I feel like she would wait for you too."

Iris teetered with the confusing thoughts on whether she wanted to pursue this thing with Sean. With these overwhelming thoughts, she decided to do some sit ups. Exercising has always been a good vice for her to cope with anxiety. The waiting for him to respond was agonizing. She's been in this position before and does not want it to end like how it did last time with the last guy she liked. In the midst of her 58th situp, her phone buzzed. She quickly got up from the carpeted floor and took her hair down from the hair tie. She checked the mirror and applied some mascara to make herself presentable. After spending about 3 minutes fixing her sweaty self up, she opened his snapchat from him eating at the diner alone. And because she overthinks things, she stared at the picture he sent. She observed it. He was at the diner, but it was too late for breakfast and lunch. Well she thought it was late for lunch.

Iris
It's 3pm, Late brunch?

Sean
I am kind of stranded. My ride kinda left me here.

Iris
I can pick you up if you want. I don't have anything to do today.

Sean
Yeah that would be great. I'll see you.

Iris zoomed down the steps, hoping her parents were still in their room. She didn't want to lie to them about where she was going and going to see a boy is forbidden in her family. At least not until after college. She quickly shoved her converse on and ran to the garage door.

"Woah, where are you going so fast?" Devon, Iris's older brother asked
"I have to pick up Shay from the diner. She doesn't have a ride back home."
"Oh damn. For real? I know Austin was a big shot in high school and was on some pedestal, but I never pegged him to be a jerk to leave a girl stranded.
"Who's Austin?"
"Austin texted in the groupchat that he slept with Shay. And he said he's going to try to hang out with her again today. He left Craig's house early to go hang with her." Devon explained
"Oh. She never said that she did anything with that guy. Well, I guess I better save her right. So bye!" Iris hurried out of the garage, pressed the close button and got in her car. As she was driving, Jackie called her. Iris answered the call through the car speaker.

"Hey, I need you to cover for me tonight. I am going out with Daze to a concert. And I told my parents I am sleeping over."
"Yeah no problem! Also I am on the road to pick up Sean! Me and him are going to hangout. Also I found out from my older brother that Shay is doing stuff with my brother's friend Austin. Austin Donohue."
"Wow. She never mentioned it. Well I wouldn't be upset. I bet she totally forgot about that guy with the whole breakup between Harrison and Willow. You know her. She will always go back to Harrison no matter what."
"That's true. Have you heard from her?"
"No, her phone keeps going straight to voicemail."
"Oh I bet she's with Harrison so we will probably find out later tonight of what happened between them."
"Yeah. I gotta go. Daze is calling."
"Alright bye!"
