It's been a couple of months of me working for the Spider Society.

Surprisingly, it's actually been going really well.

So far all I've done is go on missions, stay overnight in Hobies universe, ignore Peter from the labs obvious crush on me, met Pavitrs girlfriend, got really close to a lot of people, became practically best friends with this girl called spider-byte all while never even seeing Gwen so everything has honestly been going my way!

Right now, however, it is morning time, which means I have to get up out of bed and actually do something. I yawn as I crack my neck a little.

Although the sun is shielded by curtains, it's still bright to my sensitive eyes, I stretch my arms, dragging myself out of bed.

"Y/N"

I hear Hobie calling me as I throw an oversized shirt on over my underwear that I had slept in the night before.

"WHAT?"

I call out.
No reply.

"WHAT?"

I call again. Oh my god, I hate when he does this.

"OH MY GOD, HOW CAN YOU BE DEAF AND BRITISH, PICK A STRUGGLE!" I yelled from the room I was staying in as I opened the door only to see him standing in the living room.

"Oh, Peter wants you," Hobie says, completely engrossed in whatever was on the TV.

"In a literal sense or -"

"Oh shut up, you know what I mean," Hobie laughed, allowing himself to drop down onto the couch. I can only assume he got distracted and was standing in front of the TV for 10 minutes straight.

I started to fiddle with my watch, pressing at buttons and typing in the number for the headquarters, a portal suddenly appeared in front of me. The wind coming from it thwipping at my hair and some paper from off of the floor and tables.

"You coming out of hiding today?" I ask Hobie, walking over to stand in front of the TV.

"You going out in that? I'm sure it'll be a statement when you flash everyone your frillies," Hobie retorted back, signalling toward my outfit that I had just thrown on.

"I FORGOT!" I yell, running to the room I stayed in to change into my spider-suit before the portal closed.

I brush papers and empty take-out wrappers off of the floor and cabinets, desperately searching for my suit. I look on the floor again remembering my clothes pile, peeling away at the mass of outfits I had created a couple of days ago, eventually finding my spider-suit at the bottom.

"I don't think you're going to make this in time, the portals starting to close!" Hobie calls from the living room as I shove my leg into my suit.

I'm trying really hard at this job, but I genuinely can not help but be extremely careless.

I finally get my suit on, grabbing my mask and running to the living room.

The portal had almost fully closed as I yelled a quick goodbye, narrowly getting through the gap and landing in the headquarters within 5 seconds.

I start to rush through the bustling crowds, waving as many spider-people said hi.

"HEY GIRL!"
A fimaliour voice causes me to spin around and smile widely. Spider-byte!
"OH MY GOD HEYY!"

"Where are you off to?" She teases, placing her hands on her hips.

"Peter says he wants me, at least that's what he told Hobie."

"Oh yeah THAT Peter WANTS you alright...."

"Stop I made that joke too!"

We both begin to giggle.

"Okay I gotta go though, what if its something about being able to -"

"See your boyfriend? We all know."

"He's not my boyfriend!"

"I bet you wish he was..."

I pull up my mask to cover my face, trying not to make it too obvious.

"Yeah, I called it. Okay bye girl, I really have to go...."

I smile at her, "Byee, see you later!"

With that, I started to walk down to Peters lab. It only takes a couple of minutes.

My shoes clacked a little on the shiny floors of the hallways as I reached Peter's lab and got to the door.

As I open the door, I wave at him, "Hii Peter, what's up, Ho-"

"Y/n I found his number."

Silence settles in the room as I pull my mask down from my face.

"What?"

"Miles's universe, I found the number of it."

The room went silent. Is this really happening? I sit down trying to collect my thoughts as they all begin to flourish in my head.

Do I really get to see Miles again? What if he doesn't remember me? What if he's changed? What if I accidently go to the wrong universe?

"Peter, are you sure?"

"Completely."

I pull my mask down my face, letting it rest just below my chin. Filling the completely silent room with the shaky sound of my exhale, I put my head in my hands.

I should be jumping for joy, and yet here I am, terrified.

"Do you want me to type it in your watch for you?"

The question was like a hit to my stomach as my throat began to tighten up. I take another exhale, trying to gather my thoughts. What exactly am I scared about? Maybe I'm just really anxious...

I've been wanting to see Miles all this time, what is wrong with me?

I look up at Peter, my eyes suddenly filled with determination as I hold out my wrist in front of me, a subtle sign of allowing him to type it in.

I am not missing an opportunity to see Miles.

Peter slowly walks over, gently taking my wrist in his hands and typing some numbers onto my watch.
"Are you ready?" He asks me, his finger hovering over the button that will result in the portal.

"Yes."

With that, Peter presses down on the button the room suddenly engulfed in the colours as I walk over to the portal, I hesitantly stick a hand in, letting it get swallowed by the feeling before turning around to Peter.
"Thank you."
He gives me an understanding nod as I step through the portal, my vision impaired with the dark blurs and reds of the portals inards as I was sent through them.
