In the earliest of times, when the world was still young and the gods still roamed the earth, there lived three sisters who wielded great power. They were the Moirai, the Fates, and they controlled the fate of all who lived in the world.
Selene, the youngest, was said to spin the thread of life with her graceful hands. Cresentia, the middle sister, measured the length of each life with her golden staff. Ashterrielle, the oldest, wielded a pair of golden scissors, cutting the thread of life when it was time to end.
Together, the Moirai wove the tapestry of fate, and the gods tremble before them. It was said that those who could sway the Moirai could sway the gods themselves, and some even sought to become one with them.
