"Late last night, two dangerous criminals escaped the May City prison. These prisoners are known as the Nebraska family. They've been incarcerated on fifty-nine counts of manslaughter and an additional twelve counts of attempted murder."

The radio inside the diner plays in the back while people sit and chat around tables.

"May City?" A man questions.

"Too close for comfort." Another adds.

"Let me make sure I'm following you." Meryl pipes up while looking at her notepad. "This mad man running around stealing plants and wreaking havoc is in fact not you?" She questions Vash.

He nods confidently adding a 'mhm' for reassurance.

"Although he does look like you because this guy's your identical twin brother." Meryl continues.

Vash nods his head again.

Meryl gives him a blank face while Roberto sighs.

"You're saying we've got ourselves an evil twin scenario, huh?" Roberto looks at Meryl and then at Vash. "That sounds a bit too convenient for me."

"No tangible proof though," Meryl says.

"I mean it's not exactly impossible but..." Iris plays with her nails while trailing off.

"It's gonna take more than a pretty story for us to stick our necks out for you." Roberto looks at Vash and then at Iris. "Well, she might help you no matter what."

"Hey don't volunteer me! As much as I would love to help I don't have enough information about this situation either, and I don't have any plans of becoming one of Nomans Land's most wanted criminals." Iris crosses her arms, glaring at Roberto.

A fake sniffle interrupts Iris's statement which causes the whole group to go silent before turning their attention to Vash whose face began to scrunch up while he made a poor attempt at fake crying.

"Is your face okay?" Iris remarks while pointing at Vash.

"Crying won't help your case." Meryl states before moving Iris's hand. "And it's rude to point." She gives the white-haired woman a soft look.

"Right, sorry." Iris laughs nervously while looking at Vash who sighs before slowly laying his head down on the table.

"So, this mystery brother Knives of yours." Roberto interrupts. "What could a guy like him possibly want with the plants?" He continues.

"The money or is it about honor?" Meryl adds.

"Revenge is an option, but what kind of guy holds a grudge against plants?" Iris sighs while setting her elbow on the table.

Roberto stares at Vash for a bit before the sound of a light clang hits the table. The small ginger-haired boy from before was now standing near Iris, showing off his worm collection.

"Oh? What's this, little guy?" Iris smiles while tickling the child's lower abdomen.

The boy giggles in response while Meryl shrieks at the sight of the worms.
