Dear Matthew,
This will be the last time I write to you.
These letters helped me retain my sanity in the first year that I lost you, but now, I must learn to be strong on my own. Amy loves it here, and she loves me, and I want to be strong for her. So I must say goodbye to you.
Thank you for being the sweetest husband when you were alive. Thank you for showing me kindness, and teaching me forgiveness. I am passing on your lessons to Amy, and I think she will grow up to be a fine young woman.
I love you, Matthew. And I miss you terribly. When we meet again, I'll tell you all about what will have happened to me in the rest of my life.
Goodbye, my love.
Adeline
