A society of two parts, the kingdom of Callea is split between the people of the night and of the day.
Half - the people of the day - operate under the sun, like you and I. The other half - the people of the night - operate during the night, and sleep while the sun is shining. Neither society knows of the other until Raven Cavendish, princess of night, daughter of the moon dares to tread the floors of an attic so long forbidden, its existence had been forgotten. She finds a room split in half, one side lit by a single thread of moonlight and the other bathed in sunlight. There, on the other side, stands a boy who claims to be the prince of Callea.
Together, they band together a group of misfits in an attempt to figure out why their societies have been living separated for so many years, and how any of it is possible.
There's one simple hitch- if a night person tries to step into the sun, they simply cease to exist until they return to their own side. It's a situation that seems best left alone, ignored and forgotten like it had been for so many years.
Discovery after discovery, revelation after revelation, the truth will eventually surface. And it won't be pretty. They will wish to forget, they will wish they never met each other.
But wishing is just like hope - a distraction.
