Bacchi Bol Gaya...
POV: AaynaMaan bhaiya was laughing again. That stupid, heart-flipping, dimpled laugh.
Aayna stood behind the pillar like a total creep, watching him talk to Aarzoo didi near the garden swing. His sleeves were rolled up, and he looked like a freakin’ hero from a 90s movie soft-eyed, chill smile, that Bholenath wala bracelet on his wrist.
She shouldn’t be staring.
She really shouldn’t.But crushes don’t care about logic, right?
Even if the man was 24. Even if he was her best friend’s elder brother. Even if he called her choti every time they crossed paths.
Still, her heart did that stupid dhak-dhak every time he looked at her and said, “Kya haal hai, bacchi?”
She hated that word.
But today today she was sure something was different. The way he had helped her pick up her books this morning. The way his fingers brushed hers. The way his voice softened when he said, “Careful, Aayna.”
She wanted to believe it wasn’t nothing.
But her tiny delusion shattered exactly five seconds later.
Because Aarzoo giggled and asked, “Bhai, Aayna ki aankhon mein kuch toh hai na? Tu samajhta nahi kya?”
And Maan laughed. “Arey yaar, usse toh dekh ke lagta hai jaise bholi si school ki bachi ho. She’s like a little sister, Aaru. Sweet si, seedhi si… pata nahi kaise yahan aayi.”
Aayna’s heart dropped. Literally fell from the terrace to the basement. She bit her lip hard to stop it from trembling.
He didn’t mean it cruelly. But it still burned.
Like a sister.
She slowly turned around and walked away before they saw her. Her knees felt weak. Stupid hormones. Stupid feelings.
Stupid her.
She didn’t see Rudra standing on the upper balcony, watching her storm back into the mansion, clutching her diary so tight it looked like it might tear.
He didn’t know why it bothered him. He didn’t know why her watery eyes annoyed the hell out of him.
But they did.
And for the first time, Rudra Pratap Rathore clenched his jaw at the sound of his own brother’s laughter.
