Aayna’s POV
The tiny white pill sat in my palm like a death sentence.
Lactation induction tablet that’s what the pharmacist had called it with a bored voice, like it was no big deal.
But it was.
It was a huge deal.
My hands trembled as I stared at it, heart beating in my ears. I wasn’t a mother. I wasn’t ready. I didn’t even know how this worked. Why me?
“Swallow it.”
His voice made me flinch.
Rudra stood by the glass counter like a shadow, arms crossed, eyes ice cold. The entire pharmacy staff had suddenly vanished. Probably his orders. Of course.
“Sirplease” My throat felt dry. “This is wrong. I’m not even related to—”
“I said swallow it, Aayna,” he snapped, low and venomous. “Or I’ll make you do it myself.”
Tears welled up instantly.
I looked at the pill again.
Just one tiny tablet. White. Plain. But it felt like I was about to give up the last piece of me.
“I”
Suddenly, his fingers gripped my jaw, forcing my mouth open with painful precision.
“I said,” he growled, shoving the pill in and pressing the bottle of water to my lips, “swallow.”
My throat convulsed.
I choked, gagged, but I swallowed it. Because I had no choice. None.
His grip stayed on my chin even after.
“Good,” he muttered, voice softer now but still dark. “Now go sit. You’ll take them twice a day.”
I nodded, wiping my face with the back of my hand like a child. “Yes, sir…”
“And Aayna?” he said just as I turned away.
I looked back.
He smirked.
“If I hear one complaint from the nurse about you skipping your dose… I’ll have you sleep in the NICU next to the baby. Under cameras. Naked.”
My stomach twisted in shame. In horror. In helplessness.
I nodded again. “Yes, sir.”
I walked away without looking at him.
But his eyes?
I felt them on my back the whole way out.---
