I want to start off with apologising for not updating for a long time. I was busy with my final exams and lost motivation for a while. I will try to work more on this story, but I know the chapters will be trash if I don't have the motivation. for the people who still stuck around and are reading this, thank you so much for reading those trash chapters. It means a lot to me! Also, thank you all for your patience. My writing style changes constantly, so I hope that doesn't put you all off. Anyways, enjoy this chapter?

Izuku stared at bakugo with wide eyes, a sense of confusion and shock coursing through them. He seemed to wonder if he actually just heard The Bakugo Katsuki apologise. The words finally seemed to get through to him, and his eyes started tearing up. Bakugo seemed startled as the boy began sobbing. Bakugo awkwardly stood there, not knowing what to do. Normally, he would have called him a crybaby, but that behaviour was what he was apologising for in the first place. A small smile made its way onto Izuku's face. A genuine smile, unlike those fake smiles he had seen for weeks now. That's when Bakugo did something very out of character. He walked up to Izuku and hugged him carefully. "I'm so sorry for all the torment I have put you through..." Bakugo whispered. "I don't expect you to forgive me, what I did was stupid," Bakugo said while grimacing. It was hard for him to crush his own pride. Izuku chuckled and then looked up at Bakugo, a soft smile on his face. Bakugo guessed it was worth it then. "I already forgave you a long time ago," Izuku said softly. Bakugo could only stare at him with wide eyes.
How could he forgive him so easily? After all the things he had done to him, he at least expected some resentment. But those eyes held no anger at all, just pure happiness. Izuku always seemed so close, yet so far. Like stardust, perhaps. They had known each other for the longest time, but they never got along that well, now he thought about it. Izuku had always been the better one of the two of them, but Bakugo had refused to acknowledge that and instead tried to cover up his inferiority in comparison to Izuku. Izuku was like an angel, kind and caring to everyone. While he, on the other hand, was like a demon. He cursed, was disrespectful, and talked down on others. He really wasn't a great guy, and all because he was insecure deep down.
A grin spread across Bakugo's face. He backed up and looked Izuku in the eyes. "Let me help you. You can't fight this on your own," Bakugo said in a firm tone. Izuku seemed to hesitate, he knew he couldn't depend on Bakugo, this was his own problem. But was it that bad to ask for help sometimes? "Let me at least help you with getting through the day! I can take on a job too if you prefer that," Bakugo began a ramble. Izuku stopped him,"Fine, you can help. I just don't want the others to find out..."

Bakugo blinked slowly, an unreadable expression on his face as he was wearing a pink bartender outfit. Izuku chuckled. "Why did you choose to work here exactly?" Bakugo said in an annoyed tone. "Because the manager was searching for young staff that would illegally work over hours," he answered like it was the most normal thing in the world, a sweet smile on his face. Bakugo sighed deeply. Kazuo, one of the workers there, laughed at the duo. "You two are quite the pair. How did you two meet Midoriya-kun?" Kazuo asked. Midoriya laughed awkwardly. "His and my mother are great friends," he said while sweat dropping. Bakugo scoffed. Kazuo nodded in understanding. Negumi, the manager of the boba Cafe, yelled for them to stay focused on work. The trio immediately split up, Izuku went to take orders while Kazuo and Bakugo started making drinks.
When it their shift was finally over, they went to the changing rooms. Kazuo tried to start a conversation. "You two are both hero students, right? What's it like?" He asked. Bakugo grumbled, clearly not in the mood to talk. Kazuo took the hint and averted his eyes. Izuku smiled apologetically.
Soon after, Bakugo and Izuku started on their way back to the dorms. Izuku was clearly tired and was walking around like a zombi. Bakugo's eyes were faintly filled with worry. Izuku noticed and said, "Don't worry, I'm just tired." Bakugo scoffed and said, "I'm not worried you dumba-," he cut himself off. He blinked. 'Shit, did it again,' he thought. "I mean, of course I'm worried. You look like you're about to drop dead." Izuku chuckled dryly. Only misery and bitterness could be heard in it. "I don't look that bad... right?" Bakugo felt a pang of guilt hit his heart, and he was surprised by this new feeling. "You don't look horrible, I guess...but you could use a nap, and that's visible." Izuku sighed tiredly.
Once they returned to the dorms, they ate dinner, and Izuku had fallen asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.
The next days continued like that, and Izuku clearly got into a better mindset as time passed by. He felt reassured in a way, knowing that Katsuki would be there for him when he needed him. He was happy he didn't need to go through this alone. He was grateful he didn't need to pressure his mother even more.
Things seemed to go smoothly until his lungs collapsed during a morning jog with Bakugo. That's when everything seemingly went to hell.He got out of the hospital after 4 days. The class was told he had the flu. Bit both Bakugo and Izuku knew they were suspecting something else was going on.
When he returned, all the lights were out in the building. Katsuki had led him to his dorm and put him to bed. He was anxious that if he left, something would happen to Izuku. So he stayed. He guarded him the whole night and fell asleep on accident at 4am in the morning.
But he had hope that everything would be alright in the end. Izuku would get better, and he would become a good friend to him for once.
》hi, I hope you liked the chapter! It's wasn't all that long, but it wasn't as short as most of the chapters in this book. Once more, thank you all for your patience! If there are spelling mistakes, be free to comment about it, and I will change it as soon as I can! If any of y'all have any ideas for the next chapters, you are free to comment or dm me! You will get credit for it, of course:) I was thinking of starting a sickfics book, because I know many people like those and you won't be left with a cliffhanger all the time because they are one shots! Any opinions about that? Have a nice day!《
