The passing weeks seemed the same. I learned how to split my time between Eddie, Robin, and Steve, considering one of the three still had a hangup on who the other was, but Eddie didn't seem to mind.

"Comes with the gig of being a 'freak'  Y/N, I get it, besides I don't think me and Harrington would be the uh.. best of friends anyway"

This week was 'Eddies week', so after school I made my way out to his van. Spotting the tattered and patches jean vest, He waved me over.

"Hey Ed's, where Dustin?"
"Oh he's not comin' along today"
"Let me guess mom got on him about that latin grade again?"
"No, I didn't ask him today"
He spoke calmly, and seemed too busy packing our bags into his van to see the confusion on my face.
"Oh, well how come?"
I asked curiously, as It wasn't rare that Dustin didn't always come,  surprisingly, he has his own life outside of Hellfire and Eddie. It's surprising that Eddie didn't invite him, as that never really happened.

"Well, figured the adults needed some time away from the kids" He exclaimed sarcastically, and turned back around to face me with a wide grin before turning back to his bag, seeming to be rummaging through it to find something

"Okay? Well then what do we plan on doing today?" I asked once more, not really knowing what to expect. Even if Dustin didn't show up, it was still Eddies campaign, but I didnt see any books or spreadsheets in his bag nor his car.

"Uh well- I thought we could, go to mine and watch a movie or something and then finish up the 2nd part of the campaign if theres time-"
Eddie didnt seem to be too focused on the question, and instead threw our bags into the back of his van, seeming defeated as if what he was looking for in his bag wasnt anywhere to be seen.

"Anyway, get in the steed is ready to ride." He patted the rusting and aged metal of his van with a smile before jumping in the drivers seat and shutting the door behind him.

As I made my way around to the passenger side, I heard the old engine begin to rev up, and a faint 'come on come on' from Eddie as it sputtered. Opening the door, the car started up as the latter sighed in relief, patting the steering wheel. "Ya still got it Borys"

I couldn't help but laugh, and make an internal hope to myself that we'd get to Eddies alive.

The drive felt more tense than usual. Eddies tapping was more frantic and erratic, and he seemed to be mumbling something to himself.

"You alright?"
I asked, Eddie seeming to come out of whatever trance he was in with a sharp inhale.

"Yeah man Im good- uh- I guess I should let you know.. Chrissy Cunningham is uh... coming over for a bit for a uh- purchase."

"Chrissy Cunningham?? The Chearleader?"

"Yeah. That one"
As he spoke he sounded nervous.
He does deals all the time why is he nervous now? Unless-

"Oh. So.. are you into her?"
I tried to question as neutral as possible, but my chest was beating, and my face betrayed me for one of jealousy.
Eddie glanced at me for a moment, his brows furrowed a bit before his gaze turned back to the road.

"No- its not like that, Shes just buying."

This wasn't the Eddie I usually caught rides with, or hung around. He spoke very sternly, yet scattered.

Whats going on?

"Ed's if you like a girl you can tell me you know that right-"

"Jesus Christ Y/N its not like that."

Eddie snapped a bit, clenching the bridge if his nose with his fingers for a moment with a sigh before sparing me a sympathetic glance.

"Its not- I've just got a lot going on, let me make the deal with chrissy and then we'll talk, 'kay?"

Eddie spoke softer, and more sincere. I was taken aback by the reaction but I cleared my throat, and shared the same glance.

"Yeah.. sounds good."

I mumbled as my gaze shifted to the side door window, my arms folded tightly to themselves and I could feel Eddies gaze burning into my skull.

The ride to eddies was silent after that, and upon arriving it was a streak to the heart.

"Hey uh- you can wait in my room or wherever, she'll be here soon."

His voice trailed off as he made his way to the back of the van, popping the trunk and shuffling through the same bag prior.

I reluctantly made my way into his home as instructed, though I found myself staying in the living room, eyeing the front door as I waited. My chest was pounding, and I found it hard to maintain a normal breathing pattern.

My heart felt as if it seized completely as I heard muffled chatter and laughter outside, and as the door opened I saw the green and yellow uniform, golden hair swept up in a green scrunchie, and a sheepish smile that wouldn't face anyone but Eddie.

She was beautiful.

God Damnit, Chrissy Cunningham.
