Jason's mind refocused on the final strokes on, the once empty canvas of the painting that was in front of him. He didn't know how long he'd been working on this piece but now that it was over, there was relief, the numb feeling that grows over an agonising wound offering peace.

It was definitely the break that he had gotten because of Percy that he had been able to actually get started on completing the last section that had been haunting him for what had seemed to be ages.

The blond painter felt all his energy seeping away at a rapid pace and barely managed to make it to the makeshift bed at the corner of his art room. As he started to doze off, he thought he faintly heard the sound of the door opening. Before he completely lost his consciousness, he thought he heard the melodic voice urging him to rest and that he'd done a good job.

When he came to, the first thing he felt was the warmth and comfort of being held and then came the smell of rain. Blearily opening his eyes and blinking away sleep, he found himself to be in Percy's arms as the angel read a book that he vaguely remembered buying back when he used to read a lot. Outside the window which was right behind them, he saw the gray skies and deemed it to be a day for hot chocolate and warmth.

Without thinking much of it, Jason cuddled further into the warmth that the angel produced. He felt the dark-haired man wrapping his arms tighter around him as the sound of pages turning filled the room.

"Since when have you been here?" Jason asked, breaching the comfortable silence.

Percy hummed as he put his book down and moved slightly so that he was sitting up and then adjusted Jason so that he was now laying on his chest.

"Since you went to sleep, I guess," he replied wearing his troublemaker smile. Then he turned his head and gazed at the huge canvas that took up most of the room. "You've been working hard."

Percy ruffled his hair and Jason felt the grin growing on his face.

"Do I get a reward then?"

"Oh? You want a reward?" The dark haired man snickered as he asked.

"I mean, it's nothing too much. I just, maybe, want to be treated to hot chocolate?" Jason said blushing slightly even when there was no reason to. But he guessed that being with this angel would make him blush regardless. It wasn't too bad in his opinion.

Another troublemaker smirk, that made his heart fuzzy, and a gentle kiss to the head had Jason wondering if he was dreaming or not.

"I'll make some for both of us. But for now you should sleep some more. It's barely been four hours since you've gone to sleep," the angel said as he made the blond lay his head on his chest once again.

The artist hummed and while listening to the angel's rhythmic heartbeat, went to sleep again.

The warmth of the hot chocolate seemed to chase away the bleak grayness that had taken over the entirety of New York. The rain was relentless and the thunder was persistent but Jason had never felt as safe as he did now for ages.

He recalled a time when his mother and sister would make blanket forts in the living room on rainy days, drink hot chocolate together and listen to the sound of rain pelting the windows. It was a nice memory.

Now as he had himself tucked into a nice warm blanket, huddled closely together with Percy and listening to the sounds of rain and the city, he felt the same comfort as he'd done so long ago.
