I was panting, exhaustion washed over me. I saw Gwen getting down to the floor with a grunt and let out a deep sigh. "Good way of seeing each other again, huh?" I said, a weak smile forming on my face. I heard a tired laugh coming from her. We didn't notice someone was coming through. Gwen was holding herself together until our spidey senses kicked in. I looked behind her and it was a man holding a flashlight. Gwen quickly turned around try to shoot a web, but none came out. I decided to hide nearby and watch the scene.

"Hands in the air!" The officer shouted, pointing a gun at Gwen. She was starting to panic as he walked closer to her. "Captain, come on." She said, trying to reason with him.
I recognized the officer. It was her father. I remembered him from the photos that Gwen showed me when we were stuck in Miles's dimension. Captain Stacy pressed a button on his radio. "Suspect is armed." He said. Gwen didn't like that lie. "With what? I'm out of webs!" She said in defense.
He pointed the gun to the ground before to her again as he walked closer. "Get down on the ground now!" He demanded.
"Which is it? Hands in the air, or get down in the ground?" She questioned, trying to get clarification. "You're under arrest!" He said. I wasn't too sure of when I can intervene since this situation is getting too tense to even think. I prayed for Gwen to hopefully get out of there soon before it gets worse for her or for her father.

"I just saved a bunch of people!" Gwen continued with her defense. The words that came out next shocked me.
"For the murder of Peter Parker." He said. I thought for a second and instantly remembered Gwen's story about that incident as well.
"Captain, come on-." She pleaded.
"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you will say-". Captain Stacy went on the Miranda Rights.
"You don't understand!" She yelled over, and then her father shot a bullet in the air. Gwen and I jumped with surprise, her father wasn't joking around before he pointed it back to her. He was dead serious as he lowered his gun to his eye level.
"You don't understand." He said.

Gwen had no other choice. She has to reveal herself to him. I saw her hand going up to her face and pulled off the white mask over her head along with the hoodie. My eyes widen from what she was doing. I wanted to reach my hand out to her, but it was already too late. Captain Stacy lowered his gun when he saw before him, in the suit, was his daughter. A million thoughts were rushing through his head.

"Dad..." Gwen started to say. I looked over to her father to where his face was in utter shock as he looked down to the ground to now realize the whole truth. "I've thought about telling you. But you can see why I didn't want to- you can see why I didn't want to tell you." She continued on. She closed her eyes. "I didn't murder Peter. I didn't know it was him! I didn't have a choice!"

"How long have you been lying to me?" He asked, looking at Gwen. Those words struck her. She wasn't completely lying to him, but she was keeping this large of a secret from him for a while.

"Can you just not be a cop for one second, and be my dad here, and listen to me?" Gwen begged, hearing that she was trying to suppress her tears. "Do you really think I'm a murderer?"
I looked over at Captain Stacy, still having his gun pointing to the ground. I now started to see more of pain, disappointment, lost, and hidden anger in his face, but he didn't say a word. "You're in this to help people, right? Right?" Gwen kept on asking more questions. Again, no answer from him.
"So am I!" She continued. "And the way to help right now is to listen to me. Please, dad. You're all that I have left."
Inside my heart, I can feel the tear in it from each word was spoken from her mind, but both of our hearts are going to shatter into pieces for what was going to be said next from Captain Stacy.

"You have the right to remain silent." Captain Stacy shakily repeated the Miranda Rights, not even looking at her in the eyes.
"What?" Gwen said in disbelief.
"Anything you say can and will be used in the court of law." Gwen didn't believe that he was going to continue on with his job and arrest his daughter.
"Dad, are you really that afraid of me?" Her voice was starting to break.
"You have a right to an attorney."
Gwen ran forward to stop her father. "No! Stop!" She begged him. However, he pointed his gun again at her, stopping her as her eyes starting to well up with tears.
"Don't get any closer!" He commanded. His voice was showing that he no longer knows his only daughter anymore. All he could see was half of she truly is, while the other side of her was a stranger in his eyes.
