Life is a joke that you have to laugh at
If you don't I promise the worse for you
Suffocated with insecurities
Judge your friends, I do it all the time (I do it all the time)
Take it in with a grain of salt
Or don't take it at all
At all
Tense and ambition, ambition
Tense and ambition
Tense and ambition
Got it figured out
I got it figured out
No one here is alone
Yeah I got it figured out
No need to worry
No need to worry
No one is forever
No need to worry
Don't
Don't take it seriously
Cause life's a joke
Some sick joke*************************************************************************************
Previously on 'Life Loves To Play Pranks', the lovely attendants of JD's residence were flabbergasted at the sudden loud words which traveled in the form of soundwaves to force their way through the wooden door. JD was the first to snap out of his daze to glare at his friends, "I told you I heard her voice." and proceed to shove all the alcohol bottles and glasses under the table.
"Oi, YOU ALIVE?... Geez are all alcoholics this slow? OPEN THE DOOR OR I WILL HAVE YOU ARRESTED BY THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND!!!" As his friends continued to hide the mess still confused why they are scared of a student, JD rushed to open the door only to get her forehead knocked on by the hand which suddenly got retracted behind the now innocently standing student.
"Hello JD sensei, how are you?" Y/N muttered in the softest voice possible, playing dumb like she wasn't the one just howling like a banshee.
JD now a little composed and dazed by alcohol tried to muster a serious face, "Is that any way to speak to your professor?"
"Huh?! What are you talking about sensei?" JD could only raise his eyebrow at the innocent act.
"I am talking about the person who was just screaming at my door"
"Don't know who you mean. Wasn't me."
"Uh-huh"
"yep"
Shaking his head at his regretful effort of getting some answers, he decides to come straight to the point, "What are you here for at this hour?"
"Huh" Y/N gave a confused face and when the sudden realisation dawned on her, "ohhhh right, the aunty from downstairs asked me to deliver this food to you", she handed over the food package.
JD took the package and went inside.
"What? No, thank you. Geez so ungrateful especially since my arrival with the blessed food is gonna save you from starvation" I decided to let myself in because I don't care for people's permission but like always my decision came to counterattack me as all I saw in front of me was a horde of professors or as I like to call them the torturers from hell.
"Ummm .... Nevermind I will just take my leave." I hurriedly turned to rush out of the door but could my life be that simple? NO
"I have a question for you Miss. Y/N. Do you find my class boring?" All the while the professor was looking at me for an answer, I was busy trying to recall who he was. After looking at our expressions JD made a facetious remark,
"You don't even remember who he is"
Glaring at the most plausible cause for my troubled situation I replied with a forced smile, "What! No-never, of course, I know him. He teaches us."
"oh yea. What subject does he teach."
"The one the Dean assigned him."
"And which subject did the Dean assign him."
"It was obviously the subject Dean wanted him to teach. It's really getting late I should leave. Don't listen to what he says. He has a passion for jokes. Bye," I said pointing to JD, and then rushed out the door like was being chased by a bull.
‡***********‡
Monday came too soon as always and we all know by now that Mondays are cursed. I was very skeptical about going to college. It was also the unfateful day of the college election nomination. I also have the terrible case of a probably unhappy professor now. In all conclusions, I was terribly doomed. My mother always says that I am a warrior and I should face the obstacles life throws at me without getting afraid. She is extremely delusional, she doesn't know how much life hates me. But now I have someone to share my misfortune with. I thought as I carefully placed Haku in my backpack making sure he didn't suffocate himself to death or jump out in the middle of the road. I mean who knows if he has suicidal tendencies.
College was beaming with faces excited for elections while the dread and despair were clearly visible on my face. Walking up to our little gang I carefully placed Haku on Sri's head and his reaction was so funny. He immediately started running in circles as a little Haku chased him. After some fun, we moved on to the common room where nominations were to be taken place. JD sensei was seated there with the forms. Sri and the group nominated Savita and Bhargav's nominated him.
"Anyone else wants to nominate someone? Or is everyone satisfied with the nominations?"
Smelling the dust of mischief in the air I quickly grabbed onto the opportunity and stepped forward, "I and the great state of Y/N would like to nominate the people's representative Sri." Sri's face become pale at my suggestion and he immediately gave a response despite his swearing not to talk to me after my prank this morning.
"No" but I was not backing out on an opportunity like this.
"No, he will settle for second-rate leadership" Sri glared at me and JD on the other hand was amused,
"You are being nominated Sri, do you accept?"
"No" he again replied with the same answer.
"No, he will not let him pass a chance to serve his fellow students."
"What are you, his handler?" This time sensei directly asked me instead of Sri.
"Yes"
"No, she is not and no I don't want to be nominated."
Bhargav and Savita continued to fill out their forms. In the meanwhile, I was being dragged out of the room but not before commenting on Bhargav's inability to shake hands. Safe to say everyone was already fed up with me at this point. Poor souls.
However, they are not the only ones suffering, I am currently hiding away in the library from the professor who was harassing me with questions about why I don't find his class interesting and not to mention that stupid Bhargav has been giving me the devil's eye all morning.
It was after lunch and we were forcefully gathered in the courtyard with JD addressing the student body of doom as he gave two pamphlets to both candidates, "These are your rules and regulations", Then he pointed to the wall behind him, "and This is your wall of Democracy. For those who don't know- Y/N will you pay attention? This is important."
I looked up to realize JD sensei trying to get me to listen to him about this wall thing, "But I already know what a democracy wall is."
Letting out an exasperated breath he motioned me to go on and explain, and I cursed myself for saying that. I mean I should have just nodded and let it be but no,
" In November and December 1978, prompted by hints of political change, people began putting up posters in public places expressing their views and telling of their suffering during the Cultural Revolution. In Beijing, the most outspoken posters appeared on a section of wall near the Forbidden City, and this became known as Democracy Wall."
"Good, now you all know where to put your grievances. College dismissed for the day." As JD left, I was overjoyed that I get to go home and carefully placed Haku back in the backpack. Just as I turned there he is again,
"You know it's really inconvenient to see your face every time I turn a corner. You have been giving me the devil's eye since the morning. You wanna say something."
Bhargav was about to give me what could be a hateful reply but was cut short by Sri, "Leave her alone Bhargav, I already told you she has nothing to do with your breakup."
They both started to quarrel, at first, I thought to stay but then I just ignored them to go home. What an eventful day. What curses will follow in the upcoming days, who knows?
