The four of us huddled together becoming afraid of what would happen next. Singh had been after the same treasure for so long and we had finally gotten the directions to find it.
John B pushed Sarah and I behind him. While him and my dad stood in front of us peering down. My dad raised his gun but Singh was quick to let my dad know he'd regret it.
Singhs men had started making their way closer to us surrounding us with their guns pointed.
"Ward was gonna send up a flare to warn us? Yeah, sure." My dad angrily growled.
"Wait what did you do with my father?" Sarah shouted.
"I'm right here Sarah!" Ward yelled back from the other side. He looked perfectly fine as if he hadn't been limping around.
"I made a deal Sarah, I had to!" Ward told her.
"You see Josie? And you think I can trust you?" My dad yelled.
"Ohh some family tension." Singh laughed.
Ward explained he made a deal with Singh. All he wanted was to protect Sarah and take her somewhere Safe but I knew he would hurt her if they were alone.
"When we're finished, you can go with your father. And you three can live too, if you just give me what I want!" Singh yelled to my father.
"Sorry Carlos, I can't do it!" My dad yelled back.
Suddenly two guys grabbed John B and I. The tears I had been holding back started rolling down my cheeks.
"No, no!" Sarah cried.
"So tell me John. What does it say?" Singh yelled.
The men held guns to my brother and Is heads. I was terrified. I knew my dad wouldn't choose us over the treasure.
"Tell him. Please!" John B whispered in fear.
"Dad please do it! Please I'm begging you! For once do something for me! Please!" I begged.
My dad stood frozen like he was debating with himself. He looked at everyone. Sarah jumped quickly at one of guys to which she then had a gun pointed at her. Suddenly then gunshots were heard. My mouth dropped.
"Oh my god." I jumped.
Then the man in front of Sarah dropped. John B elbowed the guy who had been holding him back so I took after him and kneed the guy holding me back in the crotch.
"John B, Josie, grab the guns!" My dad yelled. We rushed picking the guns up. Singh started shooting off shots as we ran for our lives.
Ward and Sarah yelled back and forth at each other. While my dad shot back and forth with singh and his men.
"John B give me your gun!" Sarah whispered to him.
"Sarah what? What are you doing?" I grabbed her arm. She shook me off.
"Give me your gun." She argued which he easily handed off. She pointed the gun at her father. For once she was defending herself. Sarah shot off a warning shot making sure that Ward knew she wasn't messing around. My dad pushed the gun down after she scared Ward off.
"You're one of us now kid." My dad nodded at her.
"Oh well, I guess you can have my place then." I joked.
"Not now Josie!" John B argued. I rolled my eyes.
"Go i'll cover you!" My dad demanded.
John B rushed Sarah and I as we ran off. We ran as fast as we could. As tired as I was the adrenaline took over.
