*1 YEAR AND 6 MONTHS LATER*
The pogues and I sat on stage while we were praised by our home of family and friends and other locals for our journey to finding El Dorado. For so long we had been in loads of trouble and causing chaos that eventually the island finally saw what we were so crazy about.
"Today we come together to celebrate these teens. Friends from both sides of the island who came together to solve this five hundred year old mystery. Let's hear it for them!" The announcer cheered.
I smiled waving at the audience and our families who had been watching us. I felt proud knowing all of this was for my dad but something about it made me sad that he couldn't see it.
Finally after a while the ceremony was over. I walked over to my brother who had been talking with Sarah. "Hey we're gonna go down to the beach, I'll be home later."
"Are you sure you're gonna go? What about you know?" My brother asked concerned. I had yet to see Rafe since everything happened.
"Yeah I'm sure. We'll be fine, I promise." I reassured him. He nodded and hugged me goodbye.
Arriving at the beach I instantly felt at peace. It was the only place I could go to make me feel like everything was okay.
I sat down with my blanket on the beach. Smiling looking at the view. Nothing brought me more joy.
"I knew I'd find you here." I felt a hard object touch the back of my head with a voice that I hadn't heard in over a year.
I turned around seeing the boy I loved holding a gun to my forehead. "Rafe..."
"You lied to me Josie. You promised you'd look out for him!" He yelled.
"Rafe I- you don't understand. You weren't there. Please let me explain." I put my hands up.
"I can't let you get away with it." His finger rested on the trigger as I begged.
"Mommy look!" Haven shouted from behind me.
I starred at Rafe. He lowered the gun holding it down by his side. "Wow baby! It's so pretty." I crouched down to her size. I picked her up kissing her temple.
"She looks just like...."
"You." I sighed.
"I-I don't...how? When? She can't be." His voice shook.
"After finding Eldorado when we came home I found out." I looked at Rafe who starred at Haven.
FLASHBACK
"Alright ms.Routledge, you are for sure pregnant. Here are your lab results and the sex." My doctor handed me the papers.
"The sex?" I repeated.
"Oh I'm so sorry. Did you not want to know the gender?" She apologized.
"N-no it's okay. It's okay." I smiled holding my hand to my belly."
END OF FLASHBACK
"How do you know she's mine." He asked.
I laughed. "Well you just said it yourself that she looked just like you."
"Mommy down." Haven whined. I placed her on the blanket while she played with the sand that had blown onto it.
"Whats her name?" Rafe crouched down.
"Her first name is Haven, because when I found I was pregnant I never knew what safety she could bring for me, her middle name is Routledge after a man who chased after great adventure and Cameron is her last name of course, after her dad." I looked at him with a small smile. "Say hi to your daddy Haven."
She instantly clung to him. His arms wrapped around her small body. "Hi baby, I'm your daddy."
"She's our treasure Rafe. Our daughter."
