Once I took a closer look at the two girls, I knew then and there that these were likely high schoolers too based on their Harts on their backs. I went up to them with my bike and while Angel hung on for dear life, I greeted them,
"Hey! I think I've seen you two before!"
The girls looked taken aback by my approach as they backed away looking muddled. I mean, if a guy suddenly rode his bike toward you with a red-dressed girl in the back, I too would be bewildered. But one of them said,
"Hey yeah, I think I've met you two before. Aren't you one of my brother's friends?"
That was the exact moment I realized that this was one of my friend's sisters.
I recognized one of them immediately, the one who had spoken to me in the first place. It was Steve's little sister who was a whole year younger than him even though, she was in the same grade. I didn't exactly know how she had even gotten into this school in the first place, let alone somehow being twelve years old in high school. But I really couldn't question it, I was in the same boat as her as I was only one year older than her.
She was wearing a bright green sweater as well as regular black pants. I was kind of glad that I could see someone finally wearing something normal rather than Angel wearing a full-on dress at the back of my bike.
It took me slighty longer to recognize the girl next to her. But based on her hazel eyes as well as her ponytail and darker skin. Plus her being next to Steve's sister, I realized that the person standing next to her must've been Fron's big sister.
She was one whole year older than her brother and shorter than him as well. She also went to our school based on her Hart but I hadn't seen her anywhere on the school campus which was rather peculiar. Both of their names, however, didn't seem to pop up in my head at all. So I said,
"Yeah I know you two but I unfortunately forgot your names. You know... long day?"
Both of them looked a bit dissatisfied with me forgetting their names, but Frons' sister still said in a calm manner,
"Alright man. I don't think I've formally even met you yet either. Sigh. Well, my name is Alice, I was named after whoever helped my mom give birth to me. It was someone named Alice I guess." She was also slumping down on the wall next to us. I was intrigued by why she looked remarkably relaxed right now since it was starting to get cold. Then Steve's sister said,
"And I'm Peotronica! I was named after my mom's favorite flower and my dad's favorite band. What are your names?" She asked us. I looked towards Angel and she seemed like she was about to whisper. However, I stopped her from whispering and whispered to her first,
"Hey. At least try to talk confidently to them! If you could talk to their siblings like you talk to me surely you can do the same thing with them."
"I-I don't know. You really think I can do that?" She whispered back.
"I believe in you," I whispered to her. She smiled brightly and got up from the back of her bike.
"M-My name is Angel. And this is George, we're friends of your brothers!" She stated. I was about to point out that they already knew that but I decided to keep quiet.
"Mhm. . . What's wrong with her? She looks like she's about to pass out." Peotranica stated. I looked at Angel and sure enough, she looked a little woozy.
"Ah, it's nothing. We just went through a long day that's all. Peo.." I settled Angel back down on the back of the bike.
"-tranica," Peotranica stated.
