As I glide over the forest and fields, I searched any signs of the baby wolf. For hours, I've searched but to no avail. I should be happy right? This means that it's safe now with his family or friends.

The problem is, I think I'm lost.

I knew I was getting tired and I needed rest but before I was even able to land on something, something shot me and it hit my left wing. To my surprise, I fell on a couple of trees until I landed on the ground on my knees.

I winced in pain as I landed horribly. Not only am I bleeding on my wing, I am also bleeding on my leg. "A-ah." I cried as I've touched my injured leg and noticed a hole in my wing. I immediately concealed my wing to avoid anyone witnessing my form. The pain continued to persist even as it is invisible to the naked eye.

I tried getting up but I couldn't stand. Then, I heard a tree branch break behind me. There, I see a pair of red blood eyes staring at me amidst the dark and I felt fear immerse within me.

It was a wolf. A feral one. Not that big but it was big enough to eat me at least.

It was snarling at me and showing its canines while salivating. Yeah, you bet I'm tasty but.. not this way.

I wanted to use my abilities against it but a sudden realization stopped me, I broke my other arm. I can't cast any spells that could help me. How could I not notice that? Fuck.

After a few second, it ran in an attempt to pounce at me and as soon as I closed my eyes to accept my demise, a larger wolf jumped over me from behind and pounced at the wolf in front of me.

They were fighting. Fighting over dominance.

I sat there astounded as they fought. I couldn't comprehend what was happening. Two wolves were fighting in front of me. Shouldn't they be biting me instead and fighting over me as their food? Or are they fighting over themselves for me as their prize?!

I started panicking.

This oversized black wolf came out of nowhere and saved me from another feral wolf that was about to eat me. This one doesn't even seem feral, it looked more.. decent.

I don't know why it saved me but it might be saving me for later.

I couldn't bear to stay there any longer, I used my remaining strength to run away. As crazy as it seems, I did try but I was so slow that even a turtle could beat me to it.

Without a split second of rest, another group of feral wolves surrounded me. Crap, do I really look that tasty?

Amidst hopelessness, the oversized wolf once again stepped in front of me as if it was meant to protect me. He growled loudly, showing its possessiveness and dominance over them. The feral wolves were gradually lowering their heads in its authority. In spite of their fear, they persist a display of aggression by showing their canines.

Without a second thought, one of them pounced at him from behind and was soon followed by the other wolves, a one against five situation. He swiftly killed two of the feral wolves and was eager to do more.

Fearing that I may be next, I attempted to run away again thinking that this would buy me some more time to evacuate.

As I've reached the end of the forest and into the woods, I was starting to lose strength. I'm feeling kinda dizzy too due to fatigue, loss of blood, and pain.

As I've stepped further and further into the woods, the fog became thicker and thicker.

Soon, I stumbled over a rock and fell altogether. I used my right elbow to take the impact of the fall, making sure I do not injure my left arm further.

As I was about to get up, I heard a low growl behind me. I slowly looked behind me, only to see a pair of golden eyes staring right through my soul. I froze like Elsa.

I got up on my feet with my whole body shaking. I was so sure that they were the eyes of that oversized wolf earlier but then the eyes suddenly grew higher, as if a person was in front of me. I couldn't figure out what it was because of the fog.

Using every bit of my strength for my final moments, I waited for it to pounce at me and eat me.

A throbbing pain emerged on my left arm so I used my remaining hand to support it. My vision started becoming blurry, unsure if it's because of the fog or because of my consciousness slowly slipping away.

Suddenly it spoke in a deep and low-pitched voice, "Mate."

I'm not sure why but his voice sent shivers down my spine, "What?" I managed to ask, feeling very lightheaded.

"Mine." He asserted with firmness and started walking towards me. Instinctively, I took a step backward.

As he reached for my arm, he pinned me against a tree and I groaned in pain. Thankfully, it's not my left arm he grabbed. I felt a weird sensation or whatever tingling sensation that sent shivers throughout my body from his touch.

Feeling very faint, I couldn't see his face very well. I could only see a blurred figure in front of me. I blinked and shook my head to remain conscious.

He held my jaw steady with his hand and reached for my face, caressing it gently. He slowly buried his face on my neck and sniffed my scent, and I felt his body tense lowered as he did that.

I tried pushing him away with the little strength I have, "No, please." I pleaded with my very life. Alas, darkness slowly engulfed my entire being.

A/N:
Was this chapter too short? Sorry, I had to cut it here. Every chapter has its own highlight, so I make sure that story highlights do not overlap with one another. This would make every chapter special, no? 😉

Don't worry, not all my chapters are this short. The fun part is just beginning. How about you, what did you think about this chapter?

Do you want a chapter with a POV of him? I might make his chapter much earlier if so. 😉
