~(Y/N) POV~
I push open the double doors to the hospital wing. A few Gryffindors linger around the room, moving from Harry's bed to Cedrics. It smells of antiseptic and quidditch gear. I push past the sea of people and approach Cedric's cot in the back of the room.
"How are you feeling?" I sit in the chair beside him.
"I'm fine." He flashes a smile at me. "I'll be back on the field again soon."
"I think they may cancel Quidditch for the rest of the year." I frown. "There's no way they'll let it continue after this dementor attack."
"I hope not." He crosses his arms.
I start to say something to Cedric, but it gets drowned out by the increasing volume of the room. Hermione and Ron rush to Harry's side and everyone focuses their attention on him. Cedric and I give each other a look.
"What happened?" He asks the group.
"Well, you fell off your broom," Ron answers.
"Really? I meant the match. Who won?" Harry scans the crowd.
Cedric and I smile at each other.
Although Harry tried his hardest, there's no way he could of beat Cedric. He's an amazing quidditch player, and even a challenge for me to go up against.
"No one blames you, Harry. Dementors aren't supposed to be on the grounds. Dumbledore's furious." Hermione tries to soften the blow. "After he saved you, he sent them off."
"There's something else you should know too." Ron walks to the front of the crowd, holding Harry's snapped broom. "When you fell, your broom sort of blew into the whomping willow, and I don't think it can be fixed."
I turn back to Cedric and sigh. My mind starts to wander to other places.
"Do you think you'll be recovered before the next Hogsmeade trip?" I ask. "it's in a few days."
"I should be fine. I'm feeling a lot better already." He reassures me.
"Thank Merlin." I pat his shoulder.
"How are things going with Draco?" He asks. "I've seen him acting a little strange lately."
I purse my lips and look out the window. Draco has been acting a little off. I may have to confront him if he doesn't calm down soon. Cedric doesn't need to know the nitty gritty details though.
"He's fine. You know him, he can act off sometimes." I explain.
Cedric squints his eyes at me.
"You should be careful around him. I was really worried about you after that whole Astronomy tower incident."
"I know how to look after myself, but thanks Ced." I smile faintly and stand from my seat. "I should get going."
He nods goodbye, and I walk out of the hospital wing towards the Slytherin common room. People have been pushing their luck with me lately, even my friends.
**********
A snowflake lands on the tip of my nose and I use the sleeve of my jumper to wipe it away. The stiff, icy branches of the sycamore trees crack in the wind. Draco walks about 15 feet in front of me.
"Are you in a rush or something?" I ask him, slightly annoyed. My breath visibly puffs in front of me as I try to keep up with him.
"Pick up the pace Wolfwood, I don't want to miss the Hogsmeade trip because I was messing around with you in Snape's classroom." He grumbles.
