When I got closer I saw the problem. The man was sitting against a tree with the biggest claw mark across his chest. Blood was seeping into his clothes and it seemed that there was also a few cuts on his leg. I knew he was hurt, but I definitely didn't expect him to be a total ass.

"This is the help you bring me George? She can barely walk through the woods without getting hurt how is she supposed to help me without screwing up?"

I scoffed at him. He had the audacity to criticize me when he was the one who ended up here in the middle of the woods in need of someone else's help because he screwed up first. Not that I was going to screw up in helping him.

Even the fox was on my side. He went to his master and put his paw on his leg and pressed on it making him cry out in pain. Usually a familiar wouldn't dare hurt their master since they are all that they live for, but my life so far has just been about new surprises so I wasn't even affected by this weird one.

"Look your familiar came to me for help so do you want it or can I go enjoy the rest of my day while you bleed out here?"

His eyes softened and for some reason it looked he was studying me. Trying to figure out exactly why I was the one there. I almost took pity on him until he spoke again.

"It seems I'm stuck with you so let's get this over with shall we?"

He tried getting up but failed miserably and fell back onto the ground with a loud thud. I knew that with my weakened strength I wasn't going to be able to get him to the house and definitely not fast enough without any onlookers.

"Is your familiar's name really George?"

He turned his head and clenched his jaw slightly meaning he was definitely irritated with me. "What do you think?"

I was not impressed with his demeanor. I was almost on the brink of ignoring him and walking away but being me I wouldn't do that because I was nice to people. My father constantly reminded me to stop being so nice and put everyone else first and my own feelings last.

Truth is I haven't actually had the opportunity to put myself first since we were on the run. I couldn't get the job I wanted when we moved so I just did what my parents told me to do.

I couldn't even speak to whom I wanted because they might recognize us. "Hey are you just going to stand there or are you going help?"

I rolled my eyes and walked away. I knew I wasn't going to move him in this state easily so I needed to make a stretcher, and luckily I knew how to make it. It wasn't a fact I loved to admit but at our old pack I used to sneak out and go spy on the boy scouts who would camp near the entrance of the woods we lived in.

I learned everything they learned about the woods and since I lived there I knew even more. They taught them how to make a tent and a fire and in even a stretcher that was actually useful to know for once.

I went out to search for thick enough sticks to hold his weight and smaller ones to put down the middle of the stretcher. "Where the hell are you going you can't just leave me here!"

I forgot to tell him about my plan before walking off but I saw it as my chance to get back at him for being so ungrateful towards me.

"Actually I can just leave you here. You clearly don't want my help so I'm gonna go and enjoy the rest of my morning." The smile I gave him was what made him turn pale. Even more than he already was with the amount of blood loss he experienced.

His eyes were wide and he looked worried that I would actually be leaving him. "I'm sorry okay. I do need you since you're the only one who can help me right now."
