As time passed in the Cambridge household, there were many new and exciting things happening for little Eleanore.  As it was January 19, 2005, and Eleanore was turning one. This was a big deal for the family as well as the entirety of England. The streets were filled with viewers waiting for Eleanore to have her birthday bash. While only one, she was a prominent figure in society, selling out toys and outfits she wore in seconds, having other royal families from across the world send her well wishes being that they were more of family friends than royalty to the Cambridges and most importantly the Queen's favorite great-grandchild. The birthday bash was soon to be in full swing and most of the relatives and family friends had arrived at the palace.  Since it was snowing due to it being January the celebration was an indoor carnival. With prizes, carnival games, and rides all being placed in heated tents outside in the garden it is safe to say that it would be the birthday party of the century.  And while this was a family party William and Kate invited children to the local orphanage to celebrate their daughter's 1st birthday party since Eleanore and most of her cousins were too small to either remember the day or get to ride the rides.

With Eleanor's first year home, she had grown so much, always happy and giggling. Even saying her first word "Pa", sure it was more of a sound that come out but Willam heard it and was convinced that it was her first word. Kate on the other hand had hoped it would have been Mama but she was still ecstatic over Eleanor's first word.  Eleanore had also started to crawl and even tried walking although there hadn't been much of a success yet. None of the less Eleanore kept Kate busy during the day as she was still energetic and crawled all over the house. Often times goes missing from her mother and hide. While Eleanore loved this game always giggling when found it gave Kate quite a panic when this happened. Still, it was such a happy household, and nights always ended with the three falling asleep together, as Eleanore had more of a hard time going to sleep as she was getting older. Often times Kate and Will would put her in her crib only to end up back in her room on the floor "sleeping" in order to get Eleanore to sleep in her own room. This had been a challenge for the family since every time Will or Kate would try to leave Eleanore would pop her head out of her crib signaling to the couple that she was still awake. Eventually falling asleep was a toss-up of if Will and Kate or Eleanore would be the first to fall asleep oftentimes ending with Will always falling asleep first.  While this oftentimes was a production to get Eleanore asleep neither Will nor Kate minded it as they knew that she would soon grow up and wanted to savor every moment with Eleanore.
