Yanny and Laurel

It's exactly 11am in Seoul, South Korea. Each member of BTS walks into the studio. Some take the time to stretch and warm-up before dance practice. It was a typical Monday morning in 2018, everyone was tired. As everyone enters the room, Namjoon was the last one to enter the room. He closes the door behind him and turns to look at the rest of the members.

N: "Good morning, everyone! How are y'all doing?"

Jungkook's head perked up, he looked at Namjoon and replied.

JK: "I'm ok, hyung! How are you?"

N: "I'm ok, too. How was your weekend?"

Jungkook replied with a bit of excitement.

JK: "My weekend was amazing. I'm glad I got to take a bit of a break, even if I wasn't with all of you."

Jungkook turns away from Namjoon. Then, he stares at the floor, as if he was in deep thought. Namjoon looks at him in confusion. Then, Jungkook gasps and turns his head back to Namjoon.

JK: *Gasp* "Hyung, did you hear about Yanny and Laurel?"

Namjoon looks at him, still confused. He tries to remember if he has ever heard of such a thing. Everyone else turns their head to Jungkook.

NJ: "What are you talking about?"

JK: "Yanny and Laurel. It's some kind of 'thing' going around. Basically, there's this audio clip that you have to listen to and if you hear Laurel, you're going to heaven and if you hear Yanny, you're going to hell!"

Namjoon looks at Jungkook. Unamused. Namjoon shook his head slightly and began to speak in a stern tone.

NJ: "Are you serious? Why are you believing in those weird, superstitious things? You should just focus on practicing right now. Not some stupid shit you see on the internet. How did that even come about?"

Jungkook was a bit shocked to hear that Namjoon would deny such a thing.

JK: "But hyung, you have to listen to it! Otherwise, you won't know if you're going to heaven or hell."

Some of them were in disbelief. Jimin looked as if he was losing braincells. He looked completely lost as Jungkook talked about it.

JM: "Oh my god. What the fuck is this pabo talking about? Yanny who? Laurel what?"

Jin quickly shifted his head to look at Jimin. Jin looked shocked to hear that Jimin had never heard of it.

J: "Haven't you heard it?! Oh my god. You have to listen to it, it will change your entire life!"

Jimin didn't look convinced. He shook his head and shrugged.

J: "Basically, they say that half of the population in the world will only hear Yanny and the other half will only hear Laurel."

Yoongi sighs and rubs his nose. He looks at Jin with a slightly confused look.

YG: "That's sounds so fucking stupid."

Hobi was totally convinced. His curiosity and enthusiasm were taking over.

H: "I'm so trying this when I get home!"

While Hobi was fidgeting with excitement, Taehyung was lost in thought. He stayed staring at the wall, zoning out until he finally spoke up.

TH: "Umm...what are we talking about? Yanny whaaa...?"

Yoongi faceplams and crosses his arms.

YG: "Oh. My. God. You never get anything do you? Basically, there's an audio clip on the internet and if you listen to it, you will see if you're going to heaven or hell."

Taehyung opens his mouth as if to say 'Ohhh...'. He nods his head to show that he understood everything now.

YG: "Now I for one don't believe in superstitions and shit. But, I might try it anyway just to see, but I don't believe in it."

Jin looks back at Yoongi with a smirk. Yoongi looked back at him, annoyed. Jimin is still in disbelief because of the situation.

JM: "That's sounds so stupid, but whatever."

Jimin stops to think. Then he comes up with an idea.

JM: "Ok, listen. When everyone gets home, listen to the clip and then tomorrow we'll all come here and tell everyone what we heard. Then we'll see who's going to heaven and who's going to hell!"

Everyone nods at the idea, except for Namjoon. Namjoon still wasn't convinced. He crossed his arms.

NJ: "Guys, I don't know what y'all are talking about. I've never even heard of that. Sometimes I just watch mukbangs. Have you guys heard of mukbangs?"

Jimin turns his head to Namjoon.

JM: "Oh my god, hyung. I think everyone has heard of mukbangs. You know ASMR mukbangs? Oh my god, I live for them."

Jin raises his eyebrow.

J: "I do my own damn mukbangs and ARMY love it! Eat Jin is here to stay!"

Jin sounded enthusiastic. Namjoon nods.

NJ: "Yep, uh huh, I love me some mukbangs. Ok, guys, get into formation for Fake Love."

Everyone starts to get in formation for practice. Taehyung was a bit discombobulated and before he gets into his spot, he speaks up.

TH: "About the Yanny and Laurel thing, I wanna try doing it, too. But, I lost my computer yesterday. Can I listen to it and someone's house, please?"

Jin looks back at Tae and sighs.

J: "Ok, you can come to my house and listen to the clip as well. How the fuck did you loose your computer?"

Taehyung shrugs.

TH: "Don't know."

Namjoon looked at Taehyung with confusion.

NJ: "And I thought I was the one who always lost shit."

J: "Ok, you can come to my house after we're done. But don't touch anything! If you touch anything I'll break your legs!"

Taehyung was startled because of what Jin said, but let out a small giggle. Namjoon looked back at Jin with a look that said ' Are you sure about that?''. Jin looked at Namjoon then back at Tae. Jin lets out a small giggle.

J: "If you touch anything I'll slap you."

Namjoon turns away from Jin. All of them continue practice, blissfully. But who knew what would happen to them afterwards?
