With Kennedy out of the room, there is no more human smell in the room nor the scent of a human in the process of turning. "So that's what you did to me? I'm a vampire now?" Lindzey asks in more of a rhetorical question way. "Thanks a lot."
3RD POV
Lindzey is still on the ground lightly panting as the others in the room look at her in shock, for what feels like the 100th time throughout the day to Lindzey. "Are you gonna answer me or stare like a bunch of idiots!?"
Everyone winces at the harsh tone coming out of the usually cavity-sweet girl. Though, to be fair, how would they know that? She's been in the house for just the brink of 22 hours and she's been knocked out, or unknowingly to them in and out of consciousness, for 21 hours and 43 minutes of it!
How are they supposed to know how she usually acts? Shit, she can't even remember how she acted, only how she probably should be. So it's definitely no surprise when the question 'What kind of hell are we in for with this one's attitude?' runs through most of their heads.
"Hey hey, shh." Harper starts off, warily reaching a hand out to set on her mate's back which the younger of the two surprisingly leans into. Harper gently begins to rub small circles from where her hand is lying. "We'll explain everything. I swear to you, we just need you to calm down first, yeah?"
The girl slowly takes a deep breath, trying to calm herself down before releasing it as a shaky breath. She continues to do it until she's fully down.
Once ready, Lindzey pushes herself off the ground and onto her feet, Harper's hand dropping as she stares up at the brunette. Harper then pushes herself up off the floor, a soft look in her eyes as she looks at Lindzey.
"L-lets go s-sit on the couch?" Harper goes on to say, suggest is a better word, though it only came out more like a question. Her cheeks noticeably go a crimson red.
"Yeah... Yeah, okay," Lindzey softly responds, disorientated.
"D-do you need help to the couch, Love?" Harper then asks, again mentally scolding herself for stuttering but she's nervous!
"Oh, no no no, I'm okay. I can walk on my own," Lindzey nervously sucks her bottom lip between her teeth. Why is Harper having an effect on her? Why does she feel calm and safe with a total stranger!? Someone she doesn't even know the name of for crying out loud!
"Okay," Harper quietly responds and goes to sit where Elliot previously was. She looks up only to see the girl she turned still standing in the hallway entrance. "Here, come sit," she lightly laughs, patting the space between Vivan and herself.
Lindzey gulps before cautiously making her way over, feeling like she might throw up at any second with everyone's eyes following her every movement.
I mean, can you really blame her? There are ten people, twenty eyes total, staring at her, searching her soul for who-knows-what, twenty eyes roaming her face and body. Eighteen of those eyes stare her down while also looking about to pounce, searching for one move that could indicate something wrong or that something might go wrong. The other two looked at her softly, worriedly. Twenty bright and glowing Vampire eyes at that.
"Could you guys calm the hell down from the intense stares?" Harper speaks up, knowing just how intense their staring can be, having experienced them after being turned. Everyone's gazes calm down as Lindzey takes the spot the girl offered her, though they still stay on guard. The brunette tries her best to face more toward the girl she's suspiciously more attached to while also trying to keep an eye on the others that, non-admittingly, scare her.
"Okay... I'm sitting on the couch, now what?" She asks, trying to sound polite and calm though her impatience and anxiousness are clear as day. She wants to know what happened, where she is, who in the hell these people are, and last but most importantly, why can't she remember anything but when she last woke up?
"Oh um yeah, right. Time to explain," Harper takes in a shaky breath before continuing. "Well um, yes. You are now a vampire."
"Yeah, kinda already puzzled that together," Lindzey huffs out a breath and shakes her head. Mateo bites his tongue, knowing he shouldn't scold her but none of them appreciate the comments. Especially after his family saved her though no one says a word because of the situation she's in.
"Right, yeah you did." Harper awkwardly forces a laugh. "Well, I was the one to turn you... Um, I heard you scream for someone to run s-so I came towards you to see what was going on... I found you laying limp on the ground with two wolves gnawing at you and a little boy running away s-." Harper explains before getting cut off.
"Do you know who the boy was?" Lindzey abruptly asks but Harper shrugs it off, she probably just wants to know her loved one got away.
"Oh um, he looked young, maybe 8 or 9. Little chocolate brown curls, not so sure of anything else. I didnt get a good look at his face or anything though I think you called him Matthew." Harper explains while watching her mate's confused expression and immediately, she knows there's something wrong. All the while Lindzey stays in her spot, staring off thinking.
Matthew... I mentioned him earlier when I woke up to just the three in the room. Little boy. Brown curly hair. Matthew. She mentally processes, sighing when nothing comes up.
"O-Okay... You can continue," Lindzey says, giving up on trying to remember who that is.
Harper hesitates before starting to continue, "W-well when I found you, I decided to jump down and help you. I threw the wolves off of you and when they scurried off, I checked your pulse." Harper huffs out a breath, fingers starting to pick at her leg clad in sweats. "Your pulse was barely there so I knew there wasn't much time to save you so I decided to turn you. Then I ran you back here and Luna-" she points to the blue-haired girl that's at the other end of the couch "- and she stitched you up. Once she was done, I changed you into my clothes and took you to the room you were sleeping in."
"O-oh." Lindzey pauses, processing everything. "Thank you."
"Don't mention it," Harper lightly giggles, trying to ease the uneasy feelings in the room. "I- Um. I'm Harper by the way."
"Oh, right. I'm um, My name is Lindzey." That seems to be the only thing she knows from before being turned. Her first name.
Who is Matthew? Who am I?
