Chapter 26

Following Lloyd's victory over the big kitty. Who is currently purring and enjoying a feline nap.

Kai stood atop the "defeated beast's" wreckage, his flaming reddish brown hair gleaming in the fading sunshine. The trek had been insane, but with the support of his fellow ninjas, they had triumphed. Among the revelry of the people, Ninjago cheering and filled with relief, Kai's gaze searched for one person in particular - someone who had been on his mind the entire journey.

Kai's heart had been stolen by (Y/N), now titled the Wind Ninja by the citizens, from the minute they met. Their bravery and determination had always motivated him to be the greatest version of himself. He couldn't help but wonder if they were thinking the same thing.

Kai approached (Y/N), who was standing at the edge of the throng performing minor wind stunts for the children, with newfound confidence. When their gazes met, a knowing smile came across (Y/N's) face.

Kai: "(Y/N) feels nervous We've been through a lot together in school and this, but today... today was different. We stood shoulder to shoulder, addressing the problems head on. And I couldn't help but wonder...maybe, just maybe, we'd be a fantastic combination in more ways than one---"

(Y/N): smile and take a step closer "Oh, spiky head, shut up and kiss me"

They drew Kai into a tender kiss, which surprised him. His heart skipped a beat and he returned a loving kiss to (Y/N). He never expected his feelings to be returned, but here they are, kissing. Unfortunately, the fire and wind ninjas need to breathe, thus the kiss is broken. Still, it was a lovely kiss.

Kai: "I promise, twinkle toes, I'll always be there for you and by your side"

(Y/N): "Aww, you cheesy fire head. smiles You had my heart long before this conflict."

Kai felt a surge of happiness sweep over him, and he couldn't keep it in any longer. He drew (Y/N) into a close embrace, their bond solidifying their love in that moment. As they relished in their newfound devotion, the world around them appeared to disappear.

Nya: "Aw yeah! runs to them and pulls them both into a hug Finally he had the guts to tell you!"

Kai: a bit embarrassed, "Nya!"

(Y/N) "Pfftt hahah!"

"Ew the fire guy? Seriously, that one is more annoying that the other one"

(Y/N): Oh shush, he's a lovable fire idiot. Wait other one???

(Y/N) opted to disregard what the voice said for the time being and question them afterwards.

And as the sun fell over the horizon, Kai and (Y/N) stood hand in hand, ready to face whatever came next, knowing that their love would always burn bright like the eternal flame of their ninja spirits. 

This sign combo, fire + wind, is encouraging. The wind ninja causes the fire ninja to spin in a fiery whirl. All flushed and dizzy with emotions.

"Are you done? Let's move on already."
