Oh, but for the pillars of high might
And for the stones sealed tight
And for foundations—our blight
Would we be happier alone?
Oh but for stubborn houses erected
And for paved roads neglected
And for constitutions ill comprehended!
We might yet have seen fruits of bliss blossom
From late-planted seeds of grief.

This poem was made out of frustration when Roe was overturned... and all the terrible things that happened since. We need serious reform in the US and even around the world. We need to start chasing love, empathy, and humility--not greed or passion, or lust for money.
