"Alyuh Ari, Kayls and I have some big news" Anila uttered they all stared.
"well spill " Shania urged
"Okay so remember when we we're in high school talking about moving to New York?" Anila says and a chorus yes follows along with a few nods.
"Well I landed a job at New York Presbyterian" I continued but before I could finish a plethora of ' omg's ' and 'congratulations' can be heard. I poke Anila signaling her to tell our over excited friends the rest.
I have a feeling these laughs are gonna turn into cries soon.
"And I have been offered a position at New York Presbyterian Pediatric" She begins
"Kayla" she whispers through gritted teeth.
"Umm, I graduating this year and applied to several New York based companies" she quickly continues and sighs. Almost to fast if it wasn't for the enunciation of her vowels we wouldn't have understood a word.
It's quiet for a while until Alana breaks the silence.
"Uhhh omg, I'm so proud of yall" Alana says
"Here comes mami" Shania says and we all laugh hot tears brimming my eyes as we all stood and hugged.
"Well I guess we have allot of memories to make before you guys leave"
"Uhh when is that exactly?" Shania asks cutting herself off.
I chuckle "2 weeks guys"
"then it's starting tonight." Shaline says.
"Dawg I think we should ask for the check and head downstairs for some stronger liquids" Sri-devi laughs
"Yea girl" Chandramani nods and we agree.
"Chanadramani you know since high school you changed drastically" Shania laughs
"It's called the Freedom of Adulthood" she chuckles
It's so sur real Sri-devi is recently out of a 6 year relationship,
Shaline well she's in a situation ship,
Shania off all people is engaged ,
Kayla, Anila and I are moving to New York our lives is never not chaotic but I love it. I love my crazy bunch because they love me.
I look at them and admire the gorgeous faces next to me and the half ass jokes and the loud laughter, we have a large amount of memories but this is one of my favorites.
My heart aches realizing that I won't be able to call one of them at random and decide to go out late in the afternoon or ambush a movie night but its for the better and my girls will be there soon enough. I sigh as we pay and walk to the 519 restaurant and bar.
"Anila order me something" I say as I walk towards the bathroom.
I hear a faint 'wait for me' and I already know it's Alana, I quickly enter and look at my reflection.
"Ari what's up" Alana says already interpreting my mood.
"I'm just going to miss you all so much" I sigh and she follows
"Hun- I- I know you will, we will miss you guys too, but look at this by the time you get settled in Anila will be there and before you know it y'all will be back for Nia's wedding " she says and quickly hugs me
I laugh as the last part as she leads me out of the bathroom "Yuh know I still can't believe she getting married" I say as we approach the table the girls are seated at
"Who married what?" Kayla asks
"Girl which one of we have a stable enough relationship and a ring on she finger " they all silently point to Shania which causes her to freeze and we all burst out laughing which earns us a few stares from the neighboring people
but do we care no, no we don't

Glancing at my watch it's 1:32am and everyone except Anila, Kayla and I left we're currently waiting for Anya who decided she urgently needed to pee.
"Wooo that feel gooooood Alyuh I empty thy bladder" she whisper yells yup she drunk drunk.
Reminds me of our multiple bathroom runs in high school.
I ended up calling my sister for us because I did have drinks so she drove us home Mommy wouldn't be vex right? I was responsible and called well at least we're going home safe.
Thank God mommy wasn't vex she just made sure the doors were looked laughed at us and let us go to bed.
I've got a few weeks to enjoy here with everyone.
but firstly I have to call the hospital and get things in order. I also need to find somewhere to stay.
Ugh I mentally groan as the list of things I need to get done grows, I save the frustration for tomorrow and quickly get into bed Anila is reading on her phone and Kayla's in the shower.
I glance around plug my phone into the charger quickly say good night as I succumbed to dream land
