Thomas...
Everything I know... Everything I didn't know that I've now discovered crowds my mind. Every thought is a string that's part of a tangled ball that is part of a tangled mass.
I don't know what thoughts to untangle first. Sure, I got my memory back, but It still feels limited, like there's this whole ocean of memories that I still don't have access to. Something tells me that it's WICKED's doing. Hell, If they're the reason for all this, then why can't they be the reason for my stupid lacking memory?
As I sit on the floor of the helicopter, a sudden wave of exhaustion and pain washes over me. My eyes slowly blink closed and I surrender to the powerful pull of sleep and forcefully shove my thoughts into a closet in my mind.
I allow myself to be swallowed by a dark abyss f nothingness and slowly the vortex or rest sucks me in and I'm nothing but a peaceful floating spec in an endless void of space and time.
____________
Eva...
I drift in and out of sleep and I can feel someone fixing up my leg. Not sure how, but all I know is that whatever they did, it hurts much less and I think it stopped bleeding. I welcome sleep happily but I know my rest won't last very long till the nightmares come. The screaming... the blood... the pain.
And poor Chuck... I won't be able to sleep for a long time because all I hear when I close my eyes is his small voice. He was the youngest of us, the most innocent. He didn't deserve an end like that. It's not fair.
I shift and flutter my eyes open for a minute. I see Thomas fast asleep, Minho and Fry staring out the side window while muttering a few words to each other... And Newt sits beside me, still there as he has been for the longest time. I look up at his stern face and when his gaze meets mine, his brown eyes soften and he offers a smile. I know deep down he's in pain, he's tired and he grieves for Chuck and all our lost friends, but somehow on the outside, he appears fine.
I take his hand and give it a gentle squeeze which catches his attention quickly and fills his eyes with a mixture of shock and giddiness. I chuckle to myself and close my eyes again. The pain is lessened but it's still there... Underlying and dull... but constant. I take a deep breath and focus on the thought of being free to make my own choices, and the next thing I know, I'm drifting off into a happy warm slumber that'll eventually be taken away by the malicious void of my dreams.
