TW: None
You and your Dad had just arrived at the apartments, and you were helping him organize your belongings. As you had finished moving the boxes, you sat down to take a break. "Hey, [Reader}, you taking a break?" your dad asked. "Yeah, I think I might start unpacking my stuff in a bit." you had replied. "Sounds good. I need to start unpacking my stuff, myself." "Alright."
Time Skip to an Hour Later
You had started to unpack your things in your room, and had realized how late it had gotten. It was 1:04 in the morning. Usually, you would have preferred to stay up later, but you were exhausted from lifting and moving your belongings. You got under the covers and went to sleep.
Time Skip to the Next Morning
You had woken up to your stomach growling, which didn't surprise you, considering that you haven't eaten since yesterday morning. You went out into the kitchen, only to realize that you had no food in neither the refrigerator or pantry. You decided to drive to the nearest grocery store to pick up a few food items that would last you at least a week. You left a note on the counter, letting your dad know where you went. It took you awhile to find the store, but you eventually found your way there.
You pulled into the parking lot, and took a shopping cart. The store was fairly cold, so you were glad you wore a sweater. You bought a box of cereal, milk, bread, peanut butter, cheese, and a red bull. As you went to the self checkout, you saw that there were no available stations. So, you waited in the shortest line, which only consisted of yourself and the person using it. While you were patiently waiting, the boy that was using the station dropped his bag as he was leaving. Being the helpful person you were, you rushed over to help him. You picked up the bag for him, making sure nothing broke or made a mess. You handed him the bag. "Here you go, nothing spilled or anything, so you should be good." You said. He quickly thanked you and walked away with a fast pace, clearly embarrassed. You checked out your items and went on with your day.
You eventually got home and made your cereal, and started to eat it in silence. Your dad was still asleep, even though it was already 11:14 in the morning. You weren't quite sure what you were going to do the next couple weeks, considering that you wouldn't start school for awhile. After you had finished eating, you got up to clean your bowl.
You were listening to your favorite band, Sanity's Fall, until your dad woke up.
"Good morning, kid. Did you sleep well?" He asked. "Yeah actually, I slept pretty good. I went to the grocery store this morning and got us some food. It's not much but I didn't have much money left. I left a note on the counter telling you, but I guess I didn't really need to." "Oh, thanks. You could've waited for me to wake up and we could've just gotten donuts or something." "I know, but we had to get groceries sooner or later, so I decided I might as well just get them as soon as possible." "Good thinking, kid."
Author's Note
Hey guys, sorry for such a short chapter. I really just wanted the first chapter to be an introduction to the story, and not as much as an actual part. Hopefully, I'll be able to publish a chapter every week or something like that, but we'll see how that plays out. Credits to B00.man1 for helping me with this, she's a lot more experienced in writing fan fiction than I am.
