I've gotten really into this LGBTQ themed book known as The (Un)Popular Vote. I liked it so much I decided to draw the main character and his love interest.
The book tells the story of Mark Adams, a transgender high school boy who is also the son of a cynical congressman that doesn't accept his gender identity. When Mark sees one of his friends threatened, he enters his school's election and runs for Student body president against his father's wishes.
In this sketch, I drew both sides of him of who he was then and who he is now. At the bottom, is the girl he used to be, Madison Teagan. At the top, is the boy Mark is now. He is the first Transgender person I have ever drawn. I'll show his romantic interest later on.
