"How are you doing today?" I pecked Libbie on her cheek. She was chewing an apricot gum and smelled like fruit salad. "I'm so hungry," I confessed to my bestie.
She smiled, "I knew you would be! Here's your treat, french fries and vegetable soup, and no animal was killed." Her big hazel eyes are glistening with joy.
"Libz, you shouldn't have, you are saving money to buy an apartment!"
"Oh, please, it's nothing." She's tossing her curly shortcut head. "Hey, why such an expression when I said "treat"?" Libbie's big mouth stretched from ear to ear.
I greedily took a plastic spoon, "Don't remind me, please!" I said with my mouth full.
"Bad day at work?"
"Kinda..." I grabbed several fries at once.
She smiled mysteriously, "I can cheer you up, the Greens promoted me to a manager!"
"Congratulations!" I quickly hugged her.
"Wait, wait, wait! That's not all. Their business is expanding, and they have just bought properties in the alley and opened a new bookshop there. Mr G. said they are looking for a secretary. I think you might like to work with me. It's not an interesting job, but it's better than working with your mom, she's awesome, but she could be intimidating sometimes."
"Are you serious? It's so cool!" I wrap my arms across my bestie's neck again.
"They want to interview you tomorrow at 6 pm, but don't worry, it's just a mere formality. They trust me."
"I love you, you are an angel!"
Libbie blushed, rubbing her neck, "If we work together, we can buy or rent an apartment together. Just two of us: have fun, watch tv, order Chinese food and pizza, play old nerdy board games, talk about some nonsense, only you and me."
"Sounds like a rad plan!" I smiled, but something bothered me. "Uhmm, Libz," I put one fry in her mouth as I have been used to since our childhood, "Have you ever heard of hmmm, what's her name... Bo-something-something-B!tch, very ridiculous name."
"Sure thing! I know that you don't like socials because of your dad, aunt, and their online shop, but you are definitely living on Pluto: she's one of the most famous and richest influencers."
I blinked.
"She has millions of followers on all possible platforms..."
"What she's up to?" I interrupted my friend impatiently.
Libbie tapped her chin with her index finger, "All sort of things rich celebrities do: makeup tutorials, challenges, fashion shows, collabs with other hot stars... Wait, why are you so I interested?" Libbie grinned like a demoness, but her eyes are sad.
"Why do you know so much about her? Do you follow her on all platforms? Is she your celebrity crush?"
"You are a typical Scorpio, asking questions to my questions. Pfft, crush, shut up!"
"What are you doing today?"
She shrugged her shoulders.
"Is your dad drunk again?" I whispered so that no one in a street fast food restaurant can hear us.
Libbie was silent. I didn't need the answer.
"You are dining and sleeping at my place tonight! See you after work," I said joyfully.
"Ava..."
"Mom is gonna be happy to see you! She has tons of gossips!" I put a fry in her mouth.
A sudden thought flashed across my mind like a lightning at night.
Where are you now, Bo?
I didn't like her, but I can't stop thinking of her cute baby hair.
