"Hey Jamie?" Jamie's father called from the kitchen. Jamie leaned against the wall of the kitchen, glancing at the wallpaper that was slowly peeling off. "I have to pick up an extra shift at the mechanic. Can you do me a favor and grab some groceries from the store for me?"

Jamie rolled his eyes. "Don't understand why I have to do it."

Jamie's father shot him a look. "Can you just do this without fighting with me for once?" Jamie's father sighed and reached into his wallet, taking out a few twenty dollar bills.

"Here's sixty dollars, that should cover the groceries. And please for god's sake, don't buy any snacks that you need. You have plenty of snacks here."

"Fine whatever." Jamie grabbed the sixty dollars from his father and put it in his wallet. He pulled out his cell phone and thumbed through his contacts before getting to Addison's number.

Jamie: hey you want to go grocery shopping with me? my dad is making me go.

Addison replied rather quickly.

Addison: sure yeah. Would be nice to get out of the house, my mom's bitchin at me again about how she thinks i can do better without trevor and stupid shit.

"If only she knew."  Jamie thought, putting his shoes on and grabbing his keys.

"I don't really understand what you see in that guy Addie. No offense but he's kind of a prick." Jamie said, as he was grabbing the items from the shelf.

"I know, but he's genuine. He actually gives a shit about me." Addison tucked a few pieces of her copper red hair behind her ear and continued to type away on her phone.

"Are you still texting him?" Jamie said sounding slightly annoyed. Addison nodded and smiled sheepishly. "He's just excited about his birthday party tomorrow night."

"Oh right." Jamie replied. Addison looked up at her phone glancing at Jamie. "You and Trey are invited too, you know that right?" Jamie shrugged. "At least it gets me out of the house."

Jamie laid the basket of items on the register counter and took out his wallet and began counting out the sixty dollars. The cashier rang up the last item, pushing up her glasses. "That'll be eighty dollars and fourteen cents please."

"Fuck." Jamie thought, his breathing getting heavy. "C-Can you like check again? Maybe you rang up something twice by accident." Jamie stuttered.

"Sir, it's still going to be the same price." the cashier said. "Do you need me to spot you?" Addison said, reaching into her purse to pull out her wallet. Jamie's ears turned pink and he could feel his blood start to boil. "No, just put it fucking back." he said as he ran to the aisles and started putting everything back. Every sound became muffled as Jamie's breathing got heavier and heavier. He couldn't hear or feel when Addison gently touched his arm and say to him, "Jamie, are you okay?"

The ringing in his ears became louder and louder until all of a sudden, the glass doors of the refrigerators and freezers completely exploded and shattered everywhere. Jamie looked down at his hands and noticed tiny glass shards in his fingers, blood seeping out of the wounds. He looked up to see Addison standing there in shock, her hands quivering.

"Dude...what the fuck?"
