Princess Diana Gemwater had been summoned to a ceremony of some sort. But first, she had to get ready and 'prep herself like a proper little mermaid princess'.

Diana had no idea, really, what the ceremony was about. All she had been told was, "Dress elegantly," This was a weird request as her parents, Queen Oralie and King Orace always wanted to get Diana to wear really poofy dresses that were impossible to swim in. She sighed and split her long hair into three sections, thinking about what the ceremony could be while she braided the three sections into braids, before plaiting the three braids together to form a triple plait. Diana selected a few diamonds and pearls to fix in her hair, complementing her silver-blue eyes and tail. She picked a long, flowy ice-blue silk dress that went almost past the small delicate fins on the end of her tail. Picking up a diamond-encrusted tiara and fixing it on her hair, Diana heard a knock on the door. "What is it?" She asked. "Your Highness," The guards greeted, dipping their heads to signal that Diana was a royal family member. She also had a secret ability. Only Theodore and Elizabeth knew as they were her best friends. Sure, she loved and trusted her family, but Diana knew that the mermaids were very cautious when it came to special abilities like this- it was almost like a prejudice. "Hello Diana, my dear," King Orace said, sitting on his clamshell throne, dirty blonde hair performing its own dance, his orange tail lying on the side, in a most royal manner. "I'd like to introduce you to your betrothed, Prince Jasper from the Atlantic Kingdom." A handsome boy with sharp, cold features swam out of the shadows to Diana's right. Jasper wore an embroidered navy blue jerkin with a white undershirt. His dark hair was perfectly gelled, not one strand of hair waving in the weak current. He smiled a suspicious, oily smile that sent shivers down Diana's spine. She had been too late to tell her parents who she actually had feelings for, Theodore Carey...
