Blood

Juvia tied up her hair into a messy bun and fell onto her bed. She rubbed her stomach and muttered. "Damn..."
She was home alone, and staying home from school since recently she threw up from nausea and something she ate. Juvia took out the thermometer and checked her temperature. 107 F.
"Well I can't go to school now," she muttered, and turned her face onto her pillow, muffling herself. Her phone rang. She looked at the caller ID, Lucy. Juvia answered.
"WHAT THE HECK JUVIA! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOU!?"
Juvia held the phone away from her ear, "Home, sick."
Juvia heard some grumbling and talking in the background, she was probably at lunch.
"Gray was going to ask you something, but nooooo you had to be sick."
"It's not my fault! I-"
"Yeah I know Juvia, just get some rest. He'll visit you after school."
After school? Since when has Gray ever visited her?

Once school was over, just like Lucy had said, Gray visited.
The door knocked. She dragged her feet across the floor, and opened the door.
"Yo."
Juvia gave him a wave and plopped herself onto her couch. Gray sat next to her.
"Are you free this Saturday?"
Juvia nodded, "What? Are you going to take me out?"
Gray blushed, "There's a new pizza place downtown, I was wondering if you'd like to grab a bite."
Juvia gave him a small kick on the shoulder, "Keep feeding me junk food and I'll get fat." Gray laughed, "I don't mind."

Juvia was eating dinner, with her mom and Jenna, plus Gray. They heard the doorbell ring, "I'll get it." Juvia answered, and there stood a man in his late 40's.
"Juvia!" He gave her a big hug and walked in. "Jenna! Katrina!" Juvia's mom stood up,
"Do not call me Katrina so casually."
"Dad?"
Gray chocked on the water he was drinking, he reacted when Jenna said 'Dad'. He stood there and smiled, "I want custody of Juvia." Then everyone heard a fist slam on the table.
"Gray...?"
Gray stood up, angry. "Don't come here so casually, acting like you know them so well after leaving them for 13 years! What makes you have the right to take Juvia away and act like you're the dad?! She's the reason you left so why are you coming back!?"
"Gray-"
"I came back to take custody of one of the daughters I made." He argued, "Juvia was my first daughter and I want her back, is there a problem?"
Gray snarled, "Yes, I do! Juvia is my girlfriend!"
The dad stopped his tracks stunned, then laughed. "Juvia, you got a boyfriend?! That's outrageous! I could see Jenna having one but you?!"
Katrina slapped his face. "Gray's right, this is my house now, you left, then you decided to come back and take custody of my child. Leave."
"Ha?! She's my child too!"
"I raised her! I cared for her! I never left her the way you did! I paid for everything! Bills, clothes, food, tax, what did you do?! You were busy raising your other family! The one you love more!" Tears flowed down.
"Dad-"
"What?!" He snapped, turning at Juvia. Juvia flinched. "I'm staying here..." Her dad walked closer, Gray block him from her.
"She's staying."
Juvia started to cry, "Go away! I don't need you! You don't have a right to be called dad! Go away! I love mom more!" Juvia ran upstairs to her room, slamming the door closed. Gray ran after her.
"See John? We don't need you, please go."
Jenna sat there, comprehending her head. "Dad- I mean, John. Mom was really sad when you left, she recently got over her depression. Juvia got bullied after you left to, in high school, she started to cut-"
"She began to what?!"
Jenna smiled, "but then a savior came. Gray. Remember him mom? He helped her."
"I'm going up," the dad said.
Jenna took his arm and held it, "No. Gray will handle this. I may be in middle school, but I know a lot of things in my age, sometimes Juvia came to me for help."
A big crash was heard above.
"Juvia!" Jenna ran after her sister, leaving both parents behind.
She opened the door to see a book shelf had fallen, and broke the chair.
"What the hell Juvia! What's your problem?!" Gray tried to get a hold of her.
"I'm done with this world!"
"No you're not!" Jenna came up to Juvia and slapped her. "Put down those fucking scissors and look at me! What about me? Do I matter? What about Gray? What about his needs?"
"There are better girls for him, the actual ones that like him."
"Are you saying you don't like me?"
"I don't know!"
Gray headed for the door, "Where are you going?" Jenna asked.
"Home."
"God dammit Juvia, why are you so complicated?" And Jenna left to her room.
Juvia sat on her floor as tears flowed down, she hugged her knees.

"Oh my god! Mom!" Jenna screamed. Her mom ran upstairs, they saw Juvia on the floor, lifeless. Some dry blood was on the floor and her arm, where her scars were.
"Call Gray, I'll get her to the hospital."
Jenna nodded and dialed Gray's number.
Voicemail.
She tried again.
Voicemail.
Jenna threw the phone of frustration. "I'm going to his house."
Jenna went downstairs and ran to Gray's house (which was 2 blocks away). She knocked on the door, his mom opened it.
"Can I speak to Gray?"
His mom bit her lip, "He's not accepting visitors..."
"It's urgent." Jenna said, his mom let her in. She went up the stairs and opened his bedroom door.
"What do you want?" He snarled.
Jenna slapped him, "Juvia is fucking dying and you're busy doing what? Nothing? Some boyfriend you are."
Gray flinched when he heard 'dying', "She doesn't even like me."
"But you do. And you have no right to know how she feels and say it. Are you just going to sit there and do nothing, or stand up and drive to the hospital?"
Silence.
"Answer me."
Gray stood up. "I'm sorry Jenna. Please leave."
Jenna scoffed. "If you're staying here, you're basically saying you don't care. You want to break up with her."
"What the fuck I never said that!"
"You're acting like it!"
Gray ran his fingers through his hair, "I just- I don't know."
Jenna turned to the door. "Gray, I'm not letting you see my sister anymore."
