Y/n's POV
Leah my best friend looked at me weirdly as I sipped my black americano. "Since when did you start drinking coffee?"

"A month or two back. How so? Everyone drinks coffee nowadays do they no?" I ask glancing at the notification on my phone

"Yea but you always hated it with a passion" She answer still with a questionable look on her face

"People change"

I started drinking coffee, so my teeth aren't perfectly white
'Cause you used to say that you liked white teeth, right?

"Your smile is perfect" Nat said as she leaned against my back. I was to focused on getting my eyeliner right so I didn't respond. "Your teeth is perfectly white and super straight"

She kissed my neck and just looked for a few seconds. "Your smile was the first think I noticed about you"

And a smile, It's the first thing you'd notice about a girl you adore
Well, I think it's good you won't notice me first anymore

"I have to go" I said to Leah over FaceTime. "I'm going to get my hair cut and colored"

"You're coloring your hair" She asked surprise

"Yea. Fully blonde" I said as I tried to find my wallet and keys

"You have never colored your hair are you sure this is what you want to do" Sometimes she cares to much about me

"Yes I am totally sure this is what I want to do" I answer before saying good bye and ending the call

You said you hated blondes, so I bleached my hair dead

"Did you see that Chloe down at the bar changed her hair" I said as I spread butter on my toast. "It really fits her with the short and blonde hair"

"Yea but I don't like blonde hair. She looked okey tho" Nat answer scrolling on her phone

'Cause I loved to think that seeing my hair would make you see red
And what's it really matter, anyway? It's just hair
It grows back again and by then you'll have move on

"It grows back any way right" I said putting my plate on the kitchen counter

"Sure but I still don't like the idea of drastically changing it" She just responds as she takes a bit of her sandwich

I stopped asking questions 'cause I never thought I heard the truth

"Does this look good" I ask as I exited our closet and walked into our room

"Yea. You look perfect" She answered but barley gave me a glance

Turns out the truth hurts less than the lies and I don't wanna choose

Not happy with Natasha's answer I make my way to Maria's room. I knock and when she opens the door I speak. "Does this look good?"

"What's the occasion?"

"Fancy dinner"

"Then no. Come in and I will help" She say stepping back into her room

If it's you or me for a change of pace, I'll choose me every time

"Are you ready to go baby?" Nat asks as she pokes her head into our room

"Sorry I can't come this time" I say as I pull my computer up

"What do you mean you can't come. We have match all the games together this season" She says scrunching her eyebrows

"I know but I have a call with my therapist today so I can watch it with you?" I say opening zoom on the computer

"Since when are you going to therapy?"

"Since two months back. When I started choosing me" I answer

Baby, I want my requited love without you, I'll be just fine

"I want to be able to be happy on my own and not just relay on other people?"

"So you don't need me?" She asks offended

"Of course I need you. I just don't want to have my happiness depending on you because that's not healthy for either of us"

"That is bullshit. If we can't depend on each other then this right here" she pointed between us" It's over" And then she left

I won't care
I won't care, I won't care
I won't care, I won't care
I won't care, I don't care

"I don't care" I whispered to myself as I sat alone on our bed

But that was a lie. I did care.

I cared so much that I bleached my hair and stained my teeth
