Yeonjun went back to class with more confidence. He opens the door and Na-rae walks up to him. "You did good!" He smiles at her.

"Thank you. I was so nervous back there." he says. And like a rampage, the floor boards shook when girls came into Room 3B. Na-rae successfully backs away and leaves the mess to him. With the benefits of Yeonjun being tall, he could easily cancel out the, in his eyes, children from his view. He was only looking at her, scared for his life.

"Yeonjun I loved your broadcast!"

"I knew you could do it!"

"You sounded amazing on the intercom!"

Beomgyu and Na-rae snicker. "Oh thanks, excuse me." Yeonjun shoves through the crowd. She could see it in his eyes that he was really proud of himself. His eyes were all scrunched up and his smile showed his white teeth. He was a little embarrassed from those sweet remarks. "This is a little embarrassing... did you guys really think I did okay?" Of course he needed extra reassurance.

"Yeah, you did better than we thought. Didn't you hate this stuff?" She said, and Beomgyu nudged her leg. She wasn't supposed to say that. Yeonjun's eyes rested a bit as well as his smile. "Well... yeah, I do hate this stuff because of my anxiety but-"

"You don't need to explain," Beomgyu said. "if it makes you happy, then it's okay. Keep doing it." She cringed. "The way you talk- it's really cringe." She over exaggerates and shudders, her whole body vibrates.

LUNCH BREAK

"What do you wanna eat?" Yeonjun asks, only looking at Na-rae. "Me?" She asks. Yeonjun is oddly paying a lot of attention towards Na-rae. A lot more than usual. Yeonjun leans toward her desk. "Who else would I be talking to?" She blankly stares at his eyes while slowly turning her head, "Well Beomgyu-" The expression on his face was pure terror. "Hey you two- why are you acting like this. No, Yeonjun!" He pauses, pointing at him. "Why are you acting like this? Were you always this flirty?"

"What if  I said yes?" he confidently says, standing up straight. Beomgyu's shoulders drop. He lets out a sigh, "Never mind. Let's go eat already I'm hungry." Beomgyu gets out of his seat and walks out of the classroom. "Beomgyu wait up!" Yeonjun scoffs and calmly leaves too.

"Na-rae, wait." Yeonjun says. Na-rae turns around, letting Beomgyu get farther away from them. "Hurry up." The two of them walk side by side at a regular pace. Their footsteps synchronizing with each other. There was a minute of silence until, "Why are you doing this?" She asks. He looks at her in confusion, "What are you talking about?"

"Joining student council. Why are you doing that?"

"Do I need a reason?"

Yeonjun looks down to his feet, watching him walk.

"There's no way you're doing this just because it's our last year here. You must've had a purpose."

"I wanted to. That's all."

She knew right away that he wasn't telling the entire truth. She hated how vague he was right now. "You wanted to? Okay, whatever you say." Na-rae picks up the pace, leaving Yeonjun two steps behind. Yeonjun felt an ache in his heart. His eyes turned cold and his eyebrows go soft.

I'm sorry.

Beomgyu was already seated with his food. The rice was piled up like a mountain, and the rest was just the right amount. Na-rae and Yeonjun come back with a tray of food as well. "What took you two so long?" Beomgyu asks, stuffing his face with a spoonful of rice. They didn't answer his question, which made the air feel tense. Beomgyu eyed them back and forth. "Am I a ghost? What's wrong?"

"I forgot something, so I had to go back." Yeonjun said. Beomgyu didn't buy it but whatever. It was silent from that point on.

AFTER SCHOOL

"I have a meeting, I'll see you guys tomorrow." Yeonjun says. When he left, Beomgyu quickly finished packing up and went over to Na-rae. "Did you guys fight?" Beomgyu asks.

"No." She bluntly says, avoiding eye contact. She leaves the classroom first, swinging her backpack to her shoulders. Beomgyu curses and chases after her. "Hey this is getting annoying. Na-rae what happened when I left you two alone?"

He lightly touches her shoulder so she would stop walking away. She turned around and sighed out of annoyance. "He's not telling me why he joined. It's not supposed to be a big deal, but I can't seem to understand. He said it's because he wanted to and that doesn't make any sense."

"He must've had a reason why he's not telling you. Or maybe he's actually telling the truth." Beomgyu grabbed both of her shoulders. "Don't force it. And don't think about this too much. If he doesn't want to talk about it, then let him. Do you guys always fight like this?"

She knows that he's right. "No, this is the first time. Which is why I'm getting so frustrated right now."

Beomgyu just stays quiet. And they both head home.

8PM

Na-rae's phone starts buzzing. She picks up her phone and it was Yeonjun calling her. Should I accept? Without much time left, she answers the call anyway. "What do you want?"

"I'm outside your house. Come outside."

He hangs up before she speaks. "Hey-" She puts her phone down and goes downstairs. She opens the door and Yeonjun was standing there with no expression on his face. "What?" she says, going outside and closing the door behind her. "Are you upset?" He says, asking the obvious. She crosses her arms. "Will you tell me the truth?"

He scoffs, "I am telling you the truth."

"Liar." She says.

"It's complicated. I don't know how to explain this. But I just want to do it. Even if I get anxiety every time I go on air, I'm still going to do it."

All she does is look at him, I guess there's nothing else she can say to that.

"Why are we fighting over this? Am I not allowed to do what I want?" He asks in a serious tone.

She starts getting defensive, "That's not what I'm trying to say."

He leans forward with his hands in his pockets. "What are you saying then?"

"I was worried." she whispers, kicking a stone with her foot.

Yeonjun's eyebrows scrunch up and he stands up straight. "What?" His tone turned lighter, like he's about to make fun of her.

"I was worried. You're doing something that you wouldn't normally do. I mean it's not a big deal but it's a change for you." She gulps, feeling his stare.

He smirks, "You were worried? Hey, do you like me?" he jokes.

"Yeonjun!" she lightly hits his shoulder, making him laugh.

"I'm joking, I'm joking." Yeonjun looks at his watch. "You should go back inside. I'll see you tomorrow."

Na-rae nods, "Okay, see you tomorrow." She walks away to her door and looks back to see if he left. He was still standing there. He waved back with a small smile on his face. She smiles and heads inside. When the door slammed shut, his smile slowly turned into a frown.

You'll be okay.
