NAINA'S POV
"And that's fiction! Do you think in reality someone can reach that?" He asked
"May be not! I mean, may be yes too! Like, it's not that tough you see. What makes us girls fall over such characters? It isn't the billionaires described in books or how they can buy the world for her" I said
"Money is important Naina. You can't deny that. Every girl wants someone who's financially stable" He told
"Of course! I don't deny money isn't important. But is it just money ? I mean, women today are self dependent. They can make their own livelihood. And even if they're housewives it's not just money that matters to them. You tell me, what if a man is freaking rich but he physically abuses a woman, who will want to live with such a man! So Arjun, money matters but only when the person shows he's human rather then beast" I justified
"I like your honesty you know!" He said and I chuckled.
"Okay really being practical Arjun. We've seen this in our families. If my parents see a suitable match for me. They won't just see how good his nature or looks are. They'll also see how well settled he is because at the end they're giving their daughter to someone. So, they'll always want that their daughter never face any problem. Mentally, physically or even financially. That doesn't mean they'll only see how well settled he's. They'll see how his nature is! If he's well settled in basic human nature too or not! Am I right? " I asked
"Absolutely." He replied
"So that's what is real life! The protagonists wrote in book should be similar to this. Not totally this but similar. Like in real life people see good side of person more then bad. And what I want is the equality in both sides. If reading these romance books has taught me exactly in something it's that, love a person with flaws & if you fall in love with a person who has flaws, it's totally okay. But expect, always expect that person to change those flaws which might harm your relationship for you. Because changes are necessary. Bad, harmful flaws needs to be removed! Other then that, You can fall in love with anyone. It doesn't matter it's totally opposite or exactly same. It doesn't matter because every person is unique in their own way. These male protagonist aren't anything else. Because what they set bars are for care, concern, respect and love. So, shouldn't it be a basic need. Rather then expectations?" I asked
"I'm impressed" He said
"Yes! But you know what extra my male protagonist do in romance books ?" I asked and he chuckled
"What? " He asked back
"They just make woman think that they're just perfect. That's where the girls go wrong. I mean, come on if you're expecting a male protagonist in your real life then won't your male partner should get exact female protagonist you have in your books. The one who understands his man, the one who respects him, is proud of him, who encourage him do achieve more and more good. You know if we woman want a man as we read in fiction, I think we also have to the that woman. Woman who loves his family, respects his family as much as him. Care for his family as much as him. Who shows all her immaturity in front of him but when her man is vulnerable, when fails at something, who's weak at times she opened her arms, hug him tightly, and tell him that be as vulnerable as you want to be. Even cry , Pour all your heart infront of me, but tomorrow when you'll wake up, you will see the day as the new one and of course, become his strength. Be his woman just the way you want him to be your man" I explained
"We...ll.... I didn't know you believe in this much equality" He said
"Oh I'm gonna fight for next male rights elections you know" I dramatically told and he laughed at it.
