Winning The Battle

NAINA'S POV

I sighed looking at the hospital bed.

After check up, I was shifted to the normal room and a nurse was taking my blood pressure.

"Doctor.. " I mumbled when he looked at me.

"Are there... Burns" I asked and he looked at me.

"See Naina.. You were in fire. You..are still all fit and fine. It's the best thing" He said

"I know doctor. But my question is still unanswered. Are there burns? And please don't lie. I'm under meds hence I might not know now. But I'll of course know afterwards" I told

"Naina, there are some minor burns on body. But there's a burn on right shoulder. Which might take time to heal. But don't worry. It'll heal" He assured and I hummed.

After a while when everything was over, I saw mom and dad coming inside.

"Naina.. " Mom whispered and came sitting near me.

"Are you alright baby. Does it pain anywhere" She asked with broken voice and I denied tears leaving my eyes.

"I thought, I'll.. Maa" I sobbed when she shook her head hugging me.

"You're alright. You're my brave girl" She said and I nodded looking at dad.

"Papa.. " I whispered but he didn't say anything just kissed the top of my head and left the room.

"Papaa.. " I again spoke but the door closed and I looked at mom

"Arjun... What was going on behind us which we were totally unaware of. We thought he was your best friend. Nothing else" She said and I looked at her shocked but then I realized... Of course the way he was here first with me...

Everyone must've known.

"I.. We.. We're going to tell you" I cried when she looked at me.

"He's hurt Naina. Your dad. He thought you shared everything with him. And this is a big thing. Because it's Arjun.. " She said and I wiped my tears.

"I'm sorry" I whispered

"We'll talk about all this once you're good. Not now. " She told and I didn't speak anything at all.

This all wasn't meant to come out like this!!

Mom stood up and turned to go but then stopped and looked at me.

"Did your brother know about this? " She asked and I just looked at her when she for a second looked at me but then without saying anything, she left from the room.

And in a while, bhai came inside followed by bhabhi.

And tears left my eyes.

"They know" I whispered

"The way Arjun jumped into the fire... The world knows Naina" He sighed and I looked at him shocked.

"I..hurt.. Them" I sobbed

"Hey. Naina di. Please don't cry. It's okay. We'll see this after wards. Right now you're fine, it's all that we wanted" Bhabhi said wiping my tears

"Mom will be angry by you too" I said looking at both of them.

"We'll see to that  later. You rest. Do you need anything" Bhai asked and I denied.

After sitting with me for a while they left where as Aditi was with me for some time as I dozed off due to medications.

In evening , Arjun's family too came to meet me but I couldn't look up and even greet them because I was afraid of what they might think me of as.

Hence I just slept the whole day. Or pretended for some time but then medications made it uneasy for me to even stay awake.
