~A WEEK LATER~

I'd been visiting Spirit more regularly now. That's what I'd named him- Spirit. After our first encounter, the name had sorta just stuck. With his wild spirit, how he captured the essence of pure freedom- the name made perfect sense through my eyes.

Me and Uncle John still aren't on good terms- he's less than impressed that I'm not at least trying to help out at Maple Ridge, and instead running off every morning for a 'nice long hike.' That's what he thinks I'm doing anyway.

I hadn't come across the cougar again since Spirit had chased it off, so I tried to forget that I was almost labelled as 'prey'.

One thing I hadn't forgotten about, though, is my parents, especially when I was at Maple Ridge. There, all the pain and heartache came back to me. But, when I escape the ranch and visit Spirit, somehow all those feelings melt away and instead it's just us.

No car crash. No loss. No heartache. No loneliness.

Just us.

Yeah, I know. Very short, even for me. But, I could only update  a very little amount today because Wattpad keeps crashing. Hence, not good if you wanna write a book.

Also, thank you for almost 50 reads!  I've only been writing about Amy and Spirit for around three days, so it's really nice to know that  people have actually been bothered to pick this book up and read through my crappy writing!

It's still in the first draft stages, but it'll improve soon, I promise 🥰
