Megan took Sam's advice and did some research about what he meant when he said that Kate was a little. "So, Kate apparently does this thing called age regression. She gets into the mindset of a younger age, seemingly a baby now.", Megan says to herself as she reads about littles. "That explains a lot.", Megan continues to herself. "Poor thing really does need me to take care of her.", she says as she reads about littles needing caregivers while regressed.
After reading up on Kate's situation, Megan called up the guidance office to see what they suggested for her. "Littlestone University guidance office, who's this?", the woman in the office asked. "Yes, my name is Megan Hathaway, I'm in room 1-D with my friend Kate Patterson. Kate and I just started here today and Kate is very overwhelmed already. I signed her up for the LLHP program and she needs to be placed further into the program. What do you suggest?", Megan replied. "Hathaway and Patterson, okay. We have had other students come in earlier to complain about Ms. Patterson's crying, asking for her to be moved deeper into the program as well. With how many students complained as well as by recommendation of the professor she had earlier, she will be placed in the highest assistance level. That means she will need an aide, which is just our term for caregiver, to care for her.", the guidance counselor stated. "I'll do it. I'm the only one she trusts.", Megan responded. "Understood. Your schedule will be freed up and your only class will now be care giving. That class will be every Tuesday and Thursday at 12 pm in the daycare's lecture hall. While you are in there learning, Kate will be cared for by staff in the daycare.", the guidance counselor explained. "Thank you so much! Is there anything that has to be done now?", Megan asked. "Actually, while I have you on the phone, could you please ask Ms Patterson if she wants her bedroom to be converted into a nursery? It's an option we give to all students who are in the highest assistance level of the program.", the guidance counselor asked. "Of course!", Megan replied. "Katie sweetie? Do you want your room to be turned into a nursery?", Megan asked her roommate who is sitting on her bed still cuddling Blueberry. "Yes pease!", Katie lisped from behind the pacifier that was in her mouth, which she took from her jacket pocket. "She said yes.", Megan told the guidance counselor. "Alright, staff will be with you shortly to perform the conversion.", the guidance counselor replied. "Thank you so much! Goodbye!", Megan exclaimed, hanging up the phone.
As promised, a few minutes later, staff entered the dorm and went into Kate's room, converting her bed into a crib, adding a rocking horse, and placing a light blue plastic chest containing a variety of baby-appropriate toys. Megan and Kate thanked the staff and the staff left once they were done. "There we go Katie! See, nothing to be worried about anymore! No more classes for you!", Megan exclaimed. "Fank 'oo Megan!", Kate exclaimed, still lisping from the pacifier she refused to remove from her mouth. "Of course Katie! Can I please speak to big Katie for a moment?", Megan asked, having learned that that's how some people get littles to snap out of littlespace, as Megan learned it was called. However, Kate just sat there and tilted her head, clearly confused by Megan's question. "Guess not.", Megan shrugged. Megan removed Kate's overalls, fully exposing the oversized baby onesie she was wearing. Megan smiled at how cute Kate looked right now: wearing a thick diaper, a onesie, sucking a pacifier, with teddy bear thigh highs and unicorn slippers on her bottom half, wearing fuzzy mittens on her hands, and with a cute jacket on.
It was now lunch time and Megan knew that Kate couldn't eat normal adult foods in her current state, so she grabbed one of Kate's pouches of fruit puree baby food and fed Kate that for lunch. The staff that turned Kate's room into a nursery also added a high chair to the kitchen table, which is where Kate was fed her lunch. After that, Megan set Kate down in her crib for a nap and made herself a sandwich for lunch. The entire time she ate, Megan thought about what could have caused Kate to regress this often and to this young of an age. She hoped Kate would be in her adult head space when she woke up from her nap so she could get some answers as to why Kate was like this.
Megan's hope came true as Kate woke up two hours later, seeming confused about what had happened. "Oh, you're up!", Megan exclaimed as she hugged Kate. "What happened? Why am I in a crib?", Kate asked. "You cried nonstop during your lecture earlier and your professor and I got worried, so I called up the guidance counselor and she removed you from your classes. I put you in this program for assistance since you need help, and so I ended up becoming your aide.", Megan said. "Oh. I vaguely remember that happening.", Kate replied. "Kate sweetie, do you know what age regression is?", Megan asked.
"H-how do you know about it?", Kate asked, defensive. "Relax Katie, I did some research when your professor mentioned that you seem like a little, so I discovered age regression.", Megan explains. "So, are you a little?", Megan asks. "Well, yeah. I take it you realized how babyish I've become?", Katie asked. "Obviously. Why exactly?", Megan asked. "This whole college situation. I've been so anxious and stressed with college looming over me, and my parents wanting me to go to college when I shouldn't have even passed high school has been so hard for me. And now that I'm here, I feel so overwhelmed. I'm sorry Megan.", Katie explained. "There's nothing to be sorry about sweetie, it's fine. I don't mind at all Katie. In fact, how you've been acting and dressing has been adorable!", Megan exclaimed, hugging Katie. "Thank you so much for helping me feel comfortable, Megan!", Katie says, hugging Megan back.
