"So, I can be little as much as I want now?", Kate asked. "Yes little one, you can be little always now!", Megan replied. "Yay!", Kate exclaimed, putting her pacifier in her mouth and suckling it happily. Megan sniffed and said, "Oh, looks like the baby needs a diapie change!", before picking Katie up and taking her to her changing table. Megan unsnaps the girl's onesie and untapes the girl's diaper before throwing it away. She then grabs a new diaper and slides it under Katie's rear end before cleaning Katie up with baby wipes and powdering her crotch with baby powder. Finally, Megan tapes up the new diaper securely and snaps the onesie back up. "All done, baby!", Megan says as she pats Katie's padded behind. "Fank 'oo mommy!", Katie lisps through her pacifier.
Megan stood there in shock. "Did she just call me mommy?", Megan thought to herself. She shook her head and picked up Katie, placing her in front of her new toy box. "B'uebewwy!", the small girl exclaimed, wanting her blue rabbit stuffed animal. "Alright, alright!", Megan replied, grabbing Blueberry out of Katie's crib and giving him to her. "Yay!", the baby shouted through her pacifier, hugging her light blue bunny stuffie tightly. Katie then goes through her new toy box, searching for any stuffed animals that came in it, finding two, a pink cat and a lavender dog. "'Oo is stawbewwy", she says, pointing at the cat one. "And 'oo is gwape!", she says, pointing to the dog. Megan smiled, finding her naming theme for her stuffed animals to be really cute. Megan grabs the rainbow unicorn and yellow rabbit stuffed animals from her crib and shows them to Katie, asking, "And what are these two named?". Katie thinks for a moment, then said, "Dat's skittwe!", while pointing at the rainbow unicorn, and, "And dat's wemon!", while pointing to the yellow rabbit. "Aw, how cute! Nice to meet you two, Skittle and Lemon!", Megan says, playing along and talking to the stuffed animals in her hands. When looking at them, she noticed that Lemon is identical to Katie's beloved Blueberry aside from the colors, and Blueberry being more worn out, but still being in surprisingly good condition despite how much she's seen Katie carrying him around over the years.
Megan thinks back and remembers a period of time when Blueberry was much more worn out, having exposed patches of stuffing even. Yet here he was now in Katie's hands, looking almost good as new. So she decided to ask Katie about it, asking, "Katie sweetie, I remember that Blueberry used to be very worn out and damaged, but now he's fine. What happened?". Katie responded, "My mama is a gweat stuffie doctow! She fixed him up compwetewy!", to which Megan smiled. Megan was surprised however, as she didn't think that with how much was missing and broken that it could have been repaired. So, she walked out of the room and called up Kate's mom to confirm. "Hello Mrs Patterson, this is Megan.", she introduced herself. "Hi honey! How was you and Kate's first day of college?", Mrs Patterson asked. Megan thought about lying, but she didn't want to tarnish her relationship with Katie's parents, so she told her the truth, "Mine was fine, but Kate here had a really rough time. She was so overwhelmed by everything that she cried the whole time during her first lecture. After talking it over with the guidance counselor and her professor, she was put into the highest assistance level of the help program here at the university. She was removed from her classes and allowed to be a little, if you know what that means.". Mrs Patterson sighed, then said, "So she really was right when she kept telling us she couldn't handle it, and you now know that she's a little.". "How long do you know that she's been like this?", Megan asked. "Since she was like 6 or 7. We took her to a psychologist to figure out why she was acting younger than she actually was, and they told us that she was age regressing. Poor girl has been traumatized her whole life since she started kindergarten.", Mrs Patterson responded, sadness in her voice. "Wow, she's been like this for a while.", Megan remarked. "She has, but it got a lot worse once college approached. She used to regress to toddler age, between the ages of like 2-4, but ever since college was in her mind, she has been regressing younger as you've likely seen. She's been acting like a full blown newborn baby most of the time.", Mrs Patterson responded, sobbing, seemingly with tears in her eyes. "But-but we just don't have the physical ability nor money to take care of her anymore, especially when she's like that. We love her dearly, but we just couldn't take care of her if she were to drop out.", the now completely crying woman continued. "Hey, it's okay Mrs Patterson. The university's help program is designed for littles. The staff here converted her room into a nursery and the guidance counselor got rid of all of my classes and gave me a special care giving class so I can learn how to properly care for her.", Megan explained. "Megan honey, you shouldn't be putting your education aside to help her. You deserve to be happy, you don't have to let Kate drag you down.", Mrs Patterson replied, sniffling from the crying. "But being with Kate is what makes me happy, Mrs Patterson. I love seeing her smile, I love seeing her be happy. And right now, she's the happiest I've ever seen her.", Megan responded. "Really?!" asked Mrs Patterson. "I thought you were only friends with her because you felt bad for her.", she continued. "That's how it started, but over the years, I've grown to really care about her. Seeing her happy is my favorite thing in the whole world! So, if you really can't take care of her, could I take care of her permanently from now on?", Megan asked, eager to have an answer. "Oh honey, yes! I wouldn't trust anyone else more than you to take care of our baby girl!", Mrs Patterson replied. "Yes! Thank you so much Mrs Patterson!", Megan exclaimed. "Of course Megan. Oh, what's the reason you called in the first place?", Mrs Patterson asked. "I remembered Kate's blue stuffed rabbit being way more worn out than it is now, so I asked her about it and she said that you fixed it. Is that true? And if so, how?", Megan questioned. "Oh, Blueberry. Yeah, I fixed him up. Every time I found a piece of him around the house, I would take it and store it. Then, while she was at school on the last day, I took him and stitched him back together, giving her a good as new Blueberry as her high school graduation present.", Mrs Patterson explained. "Oh wow! That's so thoughtful of you!", Megan exclaimed. "I knew I had to keep him in at least decent condition. He's always been Kate's favorite thing in the whole world. While most girls her age obsess over a music star or something, her obsession is and always has been Blueberry. I gave her that thing the day she was born, and she has been super attached to it ever since.", Mrs Patterson explained. "Aw, how cute! Oh, and while I have you on, there's something else I wanna ask you about.", Megan states. "What is it honey?", Mrs Patterson asked. "Has Kate ever called you 'mommy' by any chance?", Megan wondered. "No, she's only ever called me 'mama'.", Mrs Patterson said. "Oh. Well, she called me mommy when I changed her a little before I called you.", Megan explained. "Aw, how cute! That must mean she already trusts you as a caregiver for her." Mrs Patterson said. "I guess so. Well, thank you Mrs Patterson!", Megan exclaimed. "Of course honey. And thank you so much for taking care of our baby girl! You and her need to come by and visit sometimes, alright?", Mrs Patterson requests. "Of course Mrs Patterson, we'll come by for holidays and breaks and stuff. Anyway, I gotta go before the baby gets into any trouble.", Megan said before saying goodbye and hanging up the phone.
Megan looked into Katie's nursery and saw her sleeping on the floor, holding the stuffies close. "She's my precious little baby!", Megan whispered to herself, gently placing her in her crib with the stuffies. She smiled, knowing that she's going to love this new life of hers.
