Rain was Sunoo's mortal enemy. It ruined his hair, and his makeup, wiped off his sunscreen, and gave him pimples.
Today was no exception as he even forgot to take his umbrella.

"Fuck!" he exclaimed as he stood outside Rockwell.

The droplets fell on the ground heavily like pins and needles were poured directly above where he stood. The sidewalks were flooded, the poor sewage system being the culprit.

He sighed, knowing what was going to happen next.

He hugged his tote bag tightly in front of him, to protect his things from the rain, and took one step into the wetness. But suddenly--

*beep beep!*

"Ah!" Sunoo yelped at the sudden sound of a car horn. A brand new BMW sedan double parked right in front of him. The passenger window rolled down and he was met with Jungwon's cheeky grin.

"Sunoo, it's raining!"

Sunoo exhaled before he responds. "Yeah, no shit, asshole."

Jungwon smiled and yelled through the rain, "Get in!"

Sunoo's eyebrows furrowed. "No!"

"Come on! Sunoo it's raining hard. Everything's flooded and you'll be drenched before you get home! You want that?"
"No!"
"Then get in!"
"I'll just wait for it to stop!"

Jungwon sighed, almost in annoyance. "Just get in, please? I can't double park here. I'm gonna get a ticket!"

"Then fucking leave, genius!"

Suddenly, the sound of thunder erupted in the skies.

"Ah!" Sunoo yelped and hopped into Jungwon's car without hesitation.

Jungwon, who remained unfazed, smirked and changed the gear to drive. "God seems to be on my side today."

"Just fucking drive!"

-

Sunoo's face can't be drawn from how ugly the frown on his face was.

"Oh come on. I really needed to pee!" Jungwon chimes from beside him in the elevator.

"You could have peed ANYWHERE but my place. Of all places! I'm just so- argghhh!"

"Hey, I drove you home. You owe me."

"It was just supposed to be a five-minute walk! My condo is two blocks away!"

"Not under this rain, no," Jungwon rebutted smugly.

They arrived at Sunoo's condo. Upon opening the door, Jungwon was met with the smell of citrus and floral fabric softener. Sunoo's condo was a 42 sq.m. one-bedroom unit in one of the high-rise buildings near the power plant mall. At first glance, Jungwon was sure that this place cost a fortune to live in. The place was designed like it was a hotel room; clean and lifeless, free of any sign of history or picture frames or character.

Sunoo walked into what seemed to be a walk-in closet and slammed the door behind him.

"I'm gonna use the bathroom!" Jungwon called out but Sunoo did not respond.

After peeing, he was met with a comfortable Sunoo, dressed in pajamas and a warm blanket on his shoulder. He stared at his window, no doubt staring at the heavy rain that poured outside. The storm clouds beyond were thick and dark, indicating that the rain won't wane anytime soon.

Unbeknownst to Jungwon, Sunoo was staring at him through his reflection in the window, half-expecting the other to bid farewell.

"I just peed," Jungwon declared. "Thanks."

"Good," Sunoo. "You may leave so I can study."

"Hey, can I stay for a bit?"

Sunoo turned back to him, eyebrows raised. "Absolutely not!"

"Looks like it's gonna be traffic on the way home. I have to drive all the way back to Alabang tonight for family dinner, but now I guess I'm stuck here."

Jungwon says as he walks to where Sunoo was, and soon they were face to face.

"Don't you have a place somewhere in Pobla?" Sunoo asked.

"The road's flooded."

"You have a car, genius."

"Heavy traffic," Jungwon shrugged.

Sunoo closes his eyes and groans.

"Ah!" he suddenly yelps at the sound of loud thunder.

His hands shot up to Jungwon's chest, who took the opportunity to enclose his arms around the other.

"Can't believe you're such a pussy for rain, Sunoo," Jungwon teased, a smirk on his face, head tilted ever so slightly to the side.

Sunoo glares at him and smacks his chest. "It's the thunder I get startled with."

Jungwon sighs dramatically. "Well, there's no reason to be scared, baby. I'm here. I'll protect my little princess," he says as he brushed Sunoo's bangs off his face.

Sunoo tried to ignore the blush forming on his face and pushed Jungwon away from him. "You are insufferable!"

Jungwon chuckles. "I'm gonna hang out here for the night, yeah?"

"I didn't even agree to anything," Sunoo said. He turned away from Jungwon and walked to his couch and snuggled into one of his throw pillows.

"But I don't see you pushing me out either," Jungwon follows him.

Sunoo looked at him, his eyes meeting the other.

"Asshole," Sunoo grumbles under his breath and gets the remote.

"Yes!" Jungwon yells in victory and hops beside Sunoo on the couch, albeit a bit too closely for Sunoo's liking.

"Ugh! Scoot over, or I'll throw you out!"

"Let's watch Frozen!"

"No, I gotta study."

Jungwon turned to him. "Study for what? Can't you chill for tonight?"

"I read slowly, okay? I need to catch up on my readings."

"But I want to watch a movie. Don't you want to? It's cold and it's raining... we could cuddle?"

"Okay. OUT!"

"Just kidding," Jungwon says with a laugh.

In the end, they compromised; Jungwon chose a movie on Sunoo's Netflix and played it on low volume, while Sunoo read on his iPad beside him.

It was in the middle of the second movie when Jungwon felt Sunoo's head bump on his shoulder.

"Sleepy?" Jungwon whispered against Sunoo's soft hair.

"Hmm," Sunoo barely hummed a response.

"Wanna go to bed?"

"Hmmm... No..."

"But look at you. Go to sleep, hmm?"

"One more page..."

"It can wait, Sun. Let's go to sleep."

Sunoo did not respond, and in no time, Jungwon heard the sound of gentle snores. Jungwon thought of waking him up so he could brush his teeth and wash his face, but looking at how peaceful Sunoo slept, he could not bring himself to awaken the other.

Jungwon cooed and lightly pinched his cheeks, glad that the other was asleep otherwise he couldn't have done what he did.

With little effort, he placed an arm around Sunoo's torso and the other beneath his legs and carried him bridal style to the bed.

'He needs to eat more,' Jungwon thought as he tucked Sunoo into bed. Jungwon walked to the living room and turned off the TV, and slept on the couch that night.
