Sunoo excused himself and escaped to the restroom. It was currently the third time he washed his hands, and he did not plan on stopping until his breathing went back to normal.
He was a breath away from fainting for reasons more than one. First, for his seething anger at Jungwon's unwarranted lie. Second, with Sunghoon's burning glare. Sunoo felt like he was backed up in a corner.
"So," someone suddenly spoke behind him. "Boyfriend, huh?"
Sunoo gasped and met the eyes of Sunghoon from the mirror's reflection.
He blinked once, not knowing what to reply.
"You didn't tell me he was your boyfriend. I thought you guys were friends," the older walked slowly towards Sunoo.
Sunghoon was an open book. He paraded around the world with his emotions on full display. Sunoo knew him too well, enough to know that the other was angry.
"Why? Jealous?" Sunoo chided.
"Of that midget? You wish."
"Then why don't you mind your own fucking business?"
"Is that what he's been teaching you? Swearing? All that crass attitude is coming from low-lives like him."
"Fuck off, will you Sunghoon?" Sunoo snarled.
"Sunghoon? So, only Sunghoon now? Not hoon? Not Kuya Sunghoon?" He said as he pushed his hands in his pockets.
"Sunghoon..." Sunoo warned condescendingly.
"We're best friends, Sunoo."
"Yes," Sunoo started. "We were."
Sunghoon scoffed. "Oh, really? And what— you just decided to just throw all that we've been throughout the window? Just like that?"
Hearing this aggravated Sunoo. His brows furrowed upon thinking about the words he was about to say. He closed the faucet and turned back to face the other.
"Are you fucking serious, Sunghoon?"
"I'm pretty serious now."
"I can't believe you," Sunoo whispered. "You're doing it again. You're being an asshole again."
Sunoo's tears were faster than his anger.
"Enlighten me, then. You suddenly disappeared and the next thing I heard, you moved to Manila. You cut off all connections with me like I was nothing to you. I thought you hated me. I didn't even know what I did!"
Sunoo scoffed. "Seriously? You don't know what you did?" Sunoo said as he pushed Sunghoon's chest. "You fucking abandoned me, Hoon!"
The both of them fell silent upon realizing that they were raising their voices.
"I know what I did was wrong, Sunoo. But you're being unfair."
"No, Hoon. You're unfair," Sunoo whispered as he pressed his index finger on Sunghoon's chest.
Sunoo's tears fell one after the other as his breath hitched upon letting go of the pain he'd been feeling ever since they met again earlier.
"You know how I feel about you, Hoon. You said you weren't ready. You said you'd think about it..." Sunoo sobbed. "And then suddenly I found out you were dating another girl? How did you expect me to react, Hoon?"
Sunghoon fell silent.
Sunoo's face was wet with his own tears and snot. He refused to meet Sunghoon's eyes as he knew it would just destroy him more. He knew what Hoon could do to him— what he was doing to him at the moment. Sunghoon was one of the few people that Sunoo allowed to make him crumble.
