The New World (Days Gone Fanfic)

We finally arrived at what looked to be an old high school, it was all boarded up, pointing to the fact that people may have tried to survive here for as long as they could. It was overrun by newts now. But newts aren't necessarily a huge problem and can be easy to take down... I was gonna ask why they needed me if there were just newts but once both engines were cut you could hear screams, screeching and groans. Somewhere in this area there was a horde and the three of us were majorly unprepared for it, I understood now. We had to be quiet, quick and undetected, all things I could be.

"So what's the plan?" I asked coming to a stop by Deacons side. No one answered, they needed to rethink the previous plan "we can't all go in there, we'll make too much noise. Plus you two will set off the newts, I vote I go in alone. Quick and easy, Sarah you can describe where I might find your thingy and what it might look like." It sounded like our best option, but Deacon didn't like it he shook his head the whole time I was talking. Sarah on the other hand started describing the location, a science room, and her machine thing. Deacon spoke next " no, no. Hell no there's no way I'm letting you go in there alone, what if you get hurt?" I placed a hand on his folded arms "I won't, it's a good plan. Probably the only one we have right now, you guys just stay here. I'll be right back, I promise." I lean up to him and peck him on the lips before heading up towards the school, but I stop mean I remember something. I turn and look Sarah dead in the eyes, to my satisfaction she gets a bit startled. "When I get back with your machine you owe me answers to what ever you injected me with earlier because I had an unpleasant meeting with something that came out of me." Her face flushed and she averted her eyes when I held up my burnt finger. Deacons face turned a bright red and I swear if we were in a cartoon you'd see smoke coming from his ears. He turned to Sarah and she flinched when he harshly asked what she did, I walked away before she answered. To be honest I didn't really care what she did, it didn't affect me or the baby. I just wanted her to know that she no longer had that little sliver of trust Deacon may or may not have had towards her, I wanted to see it be ripped to shreds, I wanted her to know that even though she may have had him first, he's mine now bitch.

"TELL ME! What the Fuck did you do to her?" Sarah stuttered and sputtered over her words as she backed away with her hands up, she was scared and I had no reason to care. She betrayed my trust in her more than once and now she deserves to watch it disappear. "I trusted you to keep her and MY baby safe and you do this. Tell me what you did Sarah, you owe me and her that much after what you've done to her"

Sarah's posture changed so fast "I don't own either of you SHIT, I thought you were dead for YEARS and this is what I get. You're with someone else and are expecting a baby. I mean FUCK Deacon, and what's worst is she's an abomination. She is and you know it, and your kid is gonna be a freak of nature. Deacon I was doing my job to try and save the FUCKING WORLD and your FUCKING the lab rat. You don't love me anymore and that's fine but don't stand there and tell me that after a few months you what? Love her? I know you love the damsel in distress but this is low even for y-" I couldn't talk it anymore, I lost control and saw red.

The next thing I know my hands colliding with her cheek, a furious red mark being left behind. "SHUT THE FUCK UP!, SHUT. UP. you don't get to talk about her like that." She looked at me with flaming eyes, her hand holding her cheek " fine you really want to know what I did, I injected her with a poison that was supposed to kill your FUCKING baby. Lucky for you and unfortunate for me her body has more tricks to it than I thought, her body disposed of it in the only way it knew how. That stuff she was talking about was a mix of bile and poison, it made a toxic compound that's why it burned her. Your girl there is definitely something special if she goes to those lengths to protect something that should have never even been produced."
