5 months later

"Breaker Simpson," the principal voiced as a few claps erupted, none of which were a match for mine.

I hooted and hollered as he grabbed his diploma, shaking the principal's hand.

Our eyes met as he walked off the stage, and I wanted so badly to bolt to him and hold him.

He did it!

We did it!

His concussion took a month to recover, and after he was done, I didn't want to leave his side, he sure wasn't going to let me.

I pleaded with Aunt Marelle to let me homeschool myself, and sooner rather than later, Breaker was "home-schooled" too.

It wasn't hard to do the work; it was more difficult to keep my hands to myself.

As I scanned his covered figure, I met his eyes from a distance once again, and he read everything I thought.

His eyes sent me a silent whisper of promise: "Soon".

With that, I nodded and felt a surge of anticipation. I knew that our connection was growing stronger every day, and I couldn't wait for the day when we could finally be together without any barriers.

Little did I know, today would be that day.

The ceremony was coming to a close, and I was so glad I was done with high school.

"Congratulations, Class of 2023!", The many screams of joy erupted from various students as hats were thrown, kisses were exchanged, and friends were hugged.

I found Breaker a few feet away from me, and I melted.

He wasted no time in leaping into my arms, his embrace warm and comforting. The feeling of his body against mine was electrifying, and at that moment, all the barriers that had kept us apart seemed to vanish. As we held each other tightly, I knew that our connection had transcended the limitations of distance and time. The future was uncertain, but I was certain of one thing: with Breaker by my side, we could conquer anything.

"I love you." I whispered in his ear, feeling the weight of those three words as they left my lips. It was a declaration that held all the hope and vulnerability I had been carrying within me. In that moment, I knew that our love was worth fighting for, no matter what obstacles lay ahead.

"You have my heart, Sawyer," he whispered back in a voice filled with sincerity and devotion. His words reassured me that our love was reciprocated.

After a moment, I pulled back and pecked his lips, feeling a surge of warmth and affection. It was a small gesture, but it conveyed the depth of my feelings for him. As we stood there, locked in each other's gaze, I knew that he was everything and more.

"There you two are! Let's go, I'm starving!" Aunt Marelle appeared from the crowd and joined us with a wide grin on her face.

I grabbed Breakers hand and ushered him to the car, "We'll meet you there." As we walked towards the car, I couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment and excitement.

Staring at the new car Breaker got after everything with the accident was sorted out. Well, after we appeared in court for Patricia's sentencing, she got five years, and I hope she really learns something in there about life. You can't have everything your way.

The new gray sports sedan picked out by yours truly was a blessing. I have yet to drive it, but it has nothing to do with Breaker not letting me. I'm in the way of myself, I should say. I haven't gotten behind the wheel since.

Almost losing him was one of the worst things I've ever experienced. I won't let that happen again. I cant..

Stopping in my tracks, I look toward Breaker, wiping a stray tear, and give him a real kiss. One that I poured my heart into.
