most people know about bisexuality. it is among the few lgbtq+ identities people acknowledge, besides gay and lesbian
however, did you know that "bisexual" is also an umbrella term? (i'm sorry if you read this in a condescending tone... it's like a genuine rhetorical question)
the bisexual umbrella contains any identity that is attracted to more than one gender. this includes pansexuality, omnisexuality, polysexuality (not to be confused with polyamory or polygamy), or even abrosexuality (these identities will all be explained below)
bisexual/biromantic: attraction to two or more genders
pansexual/panromantic: attraction to anyone regardless of gender (typically have little to no preference gender-wise)
omnisexual/omniromantic: attraction to all genders, but the gender plays a role in the attraction
polysexual/polyromantic: attraction to more than one gender
abrosexual/abroromantic (not typically considered under the umbrella but it's worth mentioning): fluid experience of sexual/romantic attraction in a shorter period of time (example: being attracted to solely men one day, then being attracted to women as well the next few days, etc). while your sexual/romantic orientation can change over a long period of time, abrosexuals/abroromantics experience this at a much quicker rate
(imo the abro flag is so pretty)
bisexuality vs polysexuality: there isn't a huge difference, if at all. i assume people who are attracted to the opposite gender and nonbinary people but not the same gender use polysexual as a label but i'm not sure. anyways it's really just up for someone's own preference
pansexuality vs omnisexuality: gender is usually not a role in pansexuals' attraction, while it usually is for omnisexuals
anyways that's it for this chapter
once again, as usual, if you have any questions or corrections please lmk and i will address them asap. also lmk anything you'd like me to talk about
anyways byeeeee
