I waited for Jake at lunch time by my locker. I fiddled with my fingers as I did, thinking about what to say to Jake.
I don't know. I was blunt but when it came to Jake, I was soft and I got easily nervous. He's my weakness. I guess this is how you're supposed to feel when you're inlove and stuff.
From a distance, I see Jake approaching me, a smirk on his face. I straightened up and breathed. "Hey, babe" he greeted -when he finally reached me-, cupping my face. Then, he kissed me. I frowned.
Jake noticed my expression and asked "what's up, baby?"
I crossed my arms across my chest and breathed deeply. I closed my eyes and gathered up all my strength to move my lips. I took in a deep breathe and let it out gently. "What were you doing with that anorexic bitch earlier today?" I asked bluntly. Letting my anger get the most of me.
Jake tilted his head in confusion and I rolled my eyes. "Johanna Twing slash Twig." That little bitch was so thin she looked like a toothpick, Chloe and I agreed on Twig since it sounded like her last name.
Jake paused then laughed, tilting his head back just like how Austin did. "What's so fucking funny, Irvine? You two seemed to be pretty comfortable around each other." I stated bitterly. Ok, now I was being blunt but whatever, my boyfriend could be cheating on me!
"woah, woah Baby! Johanna? she's a family friend and we're pretty close. We've been friends since I don't know forever? Yeah, forever. So don't worry, alright? I'm all yours." Jake said and winked.
I froze. Family friend? that made sense. Oh, shit I'm so stupid. Immediately, I felt guilty for assuming too quickly.
But then, he could be lying. I toughened up and raised an eyebrow "Really? Then how come you never told me about the story of Jake and Johanna: the Twin J's?"
Jake shrugged "Didn't feel like it."
Those words sent a wave of hurt across my body. Didn't he trust me? Dryly, I said "not convinced, you little shit."
Jake rolled his eyes and stepped forward. Cupping my cheeks, he kissed me passionately. I won't lie, I melted. All the pain I felt suddenly dissappeared. His lips were brushing gently against mine and it felt good. "how about now?" he whispered.
What am I gonna do without you, Jake? I love you oh so much to let you go.
I decided to not let the little tale between the two J's get to my nerves. Besides, they were just talking. Jake's hand wasn't on Johanna's hips or something. I won't let that little image of them get between me and Jake.
I sighed and crossed my arms. "Fine" I cooed. "But you have to pay for my lunch."
"What?!" Jake asked, wide-eyed.
"you heard me." I replied.
"But I'm broke." Jake said, intertwining his fingers with mine.
"Either that or I accuse you of cheating on me with Johanna." I said, brows furrowed.
"Fine." He said, "and she's not anorexic. She's just super thin."
With that, we started walking to the cafeteria together. "whatever. Looks like it. Oh, and pay for Chloe's as well."
Jake glared at me and I gave him a triumphant smile. "That's your punishment for not telling me in advance about Johanna... and for making me jealous."
Wow. That went quick. I have to be honsst, I was expecting that things would go batshit crazy and that Jake and I would end up in a fight or something. Instead, I'm sitting patiently on our table beside Chloe while Jake pays for our food. Chloe better thank me for making Jake pay for her lunch.
