Chloe's father drove us to school this morning. Chloe and I had first periods together so we just walked together to our classroom as well. It was currently my favorite period of school; Lunch time. Together, Jake and I walked hand-in-hand to the cafeteria to meet Chloe at our table. Yup, we claimed a table for ourselves.

"What's up, English person." I said, winking at Chloe. "Shut up human who has German blood" countered Chloe. I sat down and Jake slid to his seat beside me.

A few minutes later, Jake puts up a topic Chloe and I never discussed. "Chloe, you should get a boyfriend." said Jake. Chloe's eyes widened, making her pretty brown eyes reflect the white light just above us. I grabbed the opportunity to talk to Chloe about it. I nodded approvingly, "Yeah, I agree. Got anyone close to your heart right now, Chloe?"

"Hmmm... Let me see... No." Chloe said firmly. I raised my right hand up to my chest in mock hurt, "what about me? I'm your best friend!"

Chloe rolled her eyes and says "Fine. There's you and my family, duh." I gave Chloe a triumphant smile. "But seriously though... there's no one for now..." Chloe trailed off. "I think I'm not fully recovered yet from what happened three months ago." tears began to form in Chloe's eyes. Oh, brother. Not again.

Chloe goes through breakdowns every now and then. All thanks to that Troy guy she dated. I think he moved to another city but if I see that little sunova bish, Imma stitch that stupid mouth of his so he won't be able to make out with another girl ever again. That'll teach him.

That boy just loves to shove his tongue up a girl's throat. Any girl's throat. Chloe caught him making out with a girl in the streets. She didn't know the girl but Chloe was certain she was older than Troy. I don't even know what Chloe was doing that night, just wandering around the streets of Adelaide, probably to clear her head from something? but what?

The next day, Troy claimed his reward: a huge bitch slap from Chloe, then Chloe -trying to be strong and all- just walked away.

"I told my daddy all about it and he says I should take a break from all the boys and shit... At least, until I'm recovered" Chloe explained, wiping her tears away with her arm. "We're here for you, Chlo" I said comfortingly.

"Hey, I'm sorry... forget I even brought up the topic." Jake said, reaching for his phone. He looked at his screen and a small grin escaped his mouth. "Hey, I'm gonna see you guys later."

"where ya headed, Jake?" I asked, pouting.

"Uhm... I'm gonna go see my friends." he said in a brisk voice. He turned and started sprinting towards the hallway.

"bye, Jake" I muttered. I sighed and looked at Chloe, giving her a sad face. "Friends? Chloe, he never ditches me. Especially during lunch time." Chloe's mouth twisted into a weak smile. "Don't worry, Cristie. He's just gonna go out with his friends... He's not going to see another girl. Be positive."

It was my turn to make my eyes grow wide. The probability of Jake seeing another girl was just absurd. He would never do that to me... right? "Be positive... okay." I inhaled then exhaled, letting all the negative vibes come out of my body.

Chloe and I stood up and started walking to our lockers. "Hey, again... sorry about Troy."

"Don't worry about it." she gave me a dry smile. "I'm sorry about Jake ditching on you. I'm here for you as well, Cristie. Remember that."

"Thanks, Chloe."
