Your eyes streamed tears from the wind in your face and your heart raced with exhilaration as you and Squad Leader Hange's team returned from the walls. Yesterday was a disaster but today you helped change history.

You made three kills, four assists and helped in the first capture of a titan. Now Squad Leader Hange would be able to conduct experiments to help humanity further understand what they are up against. The pride and excitement was plastered on your face as you were welcomed back by other soldiers.

After a brief meeting and congratulations with Commander Erwin, he granted your team the next 48 hours off as his gratitude for your hard work. You felt that nothing could bring you down and this was the time, while you were still high from the adrenaline, to talk to Levi.

Ok (F/N), just breathe. If you can kill a titan, you can talk to Levi. You knock on the door to his office.

"Who is it?" You hear him sternly say.

"It's— (L/N), sir. I've come to return your teacups." You feel that adrenaline immediately change to nerves.

"Come in."

You shut the door behind you and say 'sir' once again. Levi was filling out reports and didn't bother to even look up at you. He waved his hand in the direction of a table on the other side of the room. "You can put them there."

You put them down and tell him, "Captain, I wanted to thank you for trying to cheer me up last night." He then cuts you off, still not looking up from his paperwork, "Not a problem. Is there any thing else, soldier?"

You stammer, "No, sir." You develop a lump in your throat due to how cold he's being with you.

"You're dismissed then."

Before you touch the doorknob to leave, something clicks. It's now or never, (F/N). You can do this. You take a deep breath in and a slow breath out, turn around, and walk to where Levi is sitting. "What are you doing, (L/N)? I've dismissed you." Levi said seriously with his eyes still glued to his paperwork.

You walked up behind him so you were both facing the same direction. You bent down so you could rest your hands on his chest and bring your mouth to his ear. "I lied Levi, I have something I want to discuss with you." You could feel him tense up. "What are you doing, (L/N)? You don't call your Captain by their first name."

"Cut the shit and let's get to the bottom of this." You plant your lips softly below his ear and then take a small bite. With the weight of your hands you could feel his chest expand suddenly with air. You checked to see if his expression had changed but only saw his jaw clench. "I could report you for this," he gritted through his teeth. He was always so good at hiding his emotions. "You don't want to report me," you said.

You stood back up to pull his chair away from his desk, wiggled in between, lifted yourself to sit on his desk, and rested your feet beside his thighs on his chair. "You brat! You put your dirty shoes on my chair—" he exclaimed, still avoiding eye contact with you.

"Oh hush, you germaphobe. I will clean it myself if you just listen to me." You say as you try to get him to make eye contact with you. He instead looked expressionlessly ahead at the wall beside him, not giving you the upper hand of staring down at him. "You have five minutes," he said.

You take a deep breath. "I also wanted to apologize before you cut me off. I brought up the military and our positions during a private moment and I'm sorry to have spoiled the mood. You had cut me off then, too, and all I wanted was to clear up what was happening between us. I feel something for you but I never said a word because I couldn't imagine you seeing me in that light. But now I know you do."

"Tch" he rolled his eyes.

Annoyed by his response, you push on. "I've had an interesting last couple of days and because of it I've opened my eyes to a new way of thinking. Life is short. Some days you are going to be on top of the world, acheiving great things while other days will be downright terrible that make you reevaluate your own life and the people in it."

"And?" He asked impatiently.

"Well, now I know I want to continue my life as a soldier in the survey corps. I truly want to save humanity and make life better for my family and friends. I'm also certain that I don't want to have to sacrifice a life outside of the survey corps as well. I also know I am attracted to you and I know you're attracted to me but I don't know the extent of it and I don't want to just be some kind of fling or a one night stand. I want it to mean something. I don't want to live my life wondering the "what if's" or the "could have been's". Do you?"

There was a heavy silence in the room, you couldn't handle another second of it and jumped off the desk to straddle Levi. You pulled him in by his cravat for a deep, almost painful kiss. He hardened immediately and hoped you hadn't noticed. You held his face in your hands to force eye contact.

"If you feel the same way, tell me to stay. If you don't feel the same way, then tell me to go. But remember this, I will never bring this up again. The only way we can revisit this is if you drag me back here. I have too much respect for myself to embarrass myself like this twice." Still straddling him, you wrapped one arm around him while the other played with his black hair.

"So what is it going to be, Levi?" You whisper as you plant another kiss on his neck.

He sucked air through his teeth and said in a low growl, "Go."

Not making eye contact with him, you cup between his legs and say, "I don't think you want me to go, actually."

He grabbed your hand to pull you away and said with anger, "I want you to go NOW. Do not make me report you, (L/N). Go." You looked into his normally dark grey eyes that were now a steely black. He was serious so you did what you said what you would do and left.

Dejected, you shut the door behind you and stood there, shocked at the outcome. I can't believe he rejected me. Muffled by the door, you heard three heavy consecutive pounds on Levi's desk and then his voice yell out, "FUUUCK!" You didn't want to get berated so you quickly left before he could open the door to yell at you.

Assuming you were going to either get kicked out of the military or punished harshly for what you had just done, you stopped by the kitchen before going to your room to steal a bottle of wine. I'm already screwed, what's stealing some wine going to do compared to this? You thought as you popped it open.

There was no way you were going to report to the Commander's office in a wrinkled uniform so you got to work. You alternated taking swigs between ironing and spot treating your clothes. How am I going to explain this to the Commander? If I don't get kicked out, how will I ever be taken seriously after what I did? So much for living in the moment. How could I have read this situation so wrong?

By the time you completed shining your boots, the half a bottle of wine had taken over allowing you to finally relax your mind and body. It was time to get underneath the covers and pass out. You were in a deep sleep when there were two knocks at your door.

Your door opened slightly and your name was whispered. You woke up enough to realize Levi was in your room but you didn't dare move allowing him to believe you were still asleep. You heard footsteps creep up to you. "Oi, get up." You stayed still, you couldn't fathom why he was in your room especially after what happened earlier that day.

You heard a deep, frustrated sigh. "You stubborn brat." Levi swung the covers off of you and picked you up wedding style. You couldn't pretend to be asleep any longer so you groggily asked, "What are you doing?" His face cringed from your wine breath and responded, "Exactly what you said I should do. I'm dragging you back to my room."
